Watson went from shooting 33% from 3pt last season to 41% this year. That?s impressive. Looks like Joe I was targeting 3pt shooters in the draft.

He attempted only 51 3s.  With that sample size his performance is pretty indistinguishable from 33% on 48 attempts the year before.  It?s something to build from, but I would not expect Watson to be a comfortable NBA 3-point shooter this year.  The hope is he can become on in the future.

I don't think Al is the right comp for Watson.  I see his potential as a better shooting Jarred Vanderbilt.

He doesn?t take a lot of 3?s, but his percentages have gotten better every year. From what I?ve seen his shooting stroke looks sound as well. I?m not expecting him to shoot 40% from 3pt in the pro?s, but I don?t think 36% is out of the question.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Watson is the kind of guy who if he was playing against the Celtics would drive us all crazy. Hustle guy.

Name one prospect that wasn't exposed by the Uconn defense over the last few years?

Good write up on Anton and his fit on the Celtics w video evidence. Shows his positives and things he needs to work on.

I think he is going to take some time to adjust to NBA speed and will need to work on his body strength but he?ll be a contributor, if not by mid-year then next year.

He looks more like a PJ Tucker type from those clips than an Al Horford. A true forward PF/SF rather than a big.

More like Grant Williams. Sure G Williams could play some center but he wasn't good there in all but exceptional circumstances. He was a forward by trade. Anton Watson looks the same.

Agree. It?s wishful thinking for him to be the sole big in any line up.

I'm not sure I see more than a third-string hustle guy in Watson tbh.  In particular I was a little disappointed by his footspeed in the summer league.  Guards were running right past him in a straight line to the rim, which isn't a promising indicator of his ability to switch at the NBA level.

He has some game, especially if that corner three ball continues to develop.  I like the court awareness and unselfishness.  Let's pump the brakes on the Al Horford talk though.  In all likelihood that's several rungs too far up the ladder for Watson.

Yup,  think guy has potential.  ?..he has some length and NBA build and seems comfortable on court.

Walsh is not going to make it with Celtics.

The very first clip from that link is Watson doing a reverse alley-oop, something that Grant Williams can?t do. Watson is clearly a better athlete and is a legit 6?8? with a 7? wingspan. Grant is the same height as D-White. He is much shorter than Watson and a worse athlete.
