Not seen all the games, but what I did see I wasn't that impressed with Scheierman so far. I think there's precisely zero chance he cracks the rotation based on his current level of competence. Obviously it's just summer league and everyone else is trying to impress, but I think he himself was trying a little too hard. I think some time in the G-league will do him good.
The guy I've been most impressed with, other than Queta and Peterson who has been in the program for a year already, is that kid Anton Watson. I think he's definitely showing some promise.
I been banging the Watson drum, good to hear a few others picking up the beat.
I think in short order he could fill out the Brissett role. Springer and Tillman will have something to say about that but?.he?s a legitimate option.
I haven't seen the Celtics SL games. Has A Watson looked more like a forward or a big man? Like a PF/SF? Or a PF/C?
This is his problem a bit. He?s a 4, not quite big enough be a 5, not quite quick enough to be a 3. His best chance to stick in the league would be to bulk up enuff to be more of a 4/5. That being said, he can guard all those positions, he?s very switchable on defense. His best offense is his IQ, he moves to good spots on the floor for open passes. And generally finishes if open, but lacks confidence in his shot for some reason. He looks really good when he?s aggressive but can be out athleted by defenders, hence prolly his hesitancy.
