I was just listening to Scott Van Pelt, and he started with the idea that the team?s patience with all has put us in the situation. Patience with Danny, Brad, Joe, Brown, Tatum, Pritchard, Hauser, Kornet, etc. They did make the KP-Jrue upgrade and the only true piece they gave up on was Smart. They had many opportunities to move on from JB, and could have gotten nervous about Joe.

But they didn?t, and the Celtics have banner 18.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

Very gratifying.  Sometomes the best deals are the ones that don't happen.  How many times was JB on the block I wonder?
Yup

I understood the desire to trade JB for an upgrade very early on.  There were some star players available, and they were better than JB at the time.  I lead okay with some of those proposals and hated others.

But, I've never understood the "break up the Jays" arguments, because in almost every proposal we would have gotten less talent back than we were sending out.  I think the only one of these trades that made any sense at all, at least in theory, was JB for KAT.  Everything else was trading JB for $0.65 on the dollar.

many here knew smart had to go. even tho we liked him. it was for the ebst and we were right.

i always liked brown but like others had his bad moments.

i remember many being fine trading him with it ONLY if we could upgrade

ideas were floated about durant, anthony davis, etc.  being how injury prone those two are now it was smart keeping him.  plus more shelf life left in JB.
LET'S GO CELTICS!

I would have been fascinated to see if what the Cs would have done this offseason if they hadn't had won it...

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Buddy Hield was another. A lot of turtling since banner 18 arrived.
