Now after winning his first ring as a rookie, he have now an idea of an actual NBA playoff atmosphere. It took some years for guys like Hauser and Pritchard to be regular rotation players. He and Queta also led the Maine to G-League finals. But I wonder if he's ready to be called upon action on the main team.

Over who?

I guess if Al retires and KP is out someone moves up and creates a depth opening, albeit in a different position, but still a general depth change.  Otherwise Prichard and Hauser will be the main bench guys and the starting 5 is in place.

I love watching guys develop, and I?m always rooting for home grown talent, just not sure next season is Walsh?s chance yet.

Maybe he?ll make himself impossible to ignore?

Gonna be hard for him. I think if anyone, it's probably Queta who has a chance to crack the rotation, maybe in one of Kornet/Tillman's spot assuming one walks.

If he can shoot 36% ( What he shot in G League)  from 3 in the NBA he'll get a chance.

He's still really young and raw, but they do need to develop some guys. I think they could go in with an open mind, but have alternatives ready in case it doesn't work out. Look at what happened to Denver. They're not the biggest spending team and they declined to keep Bruce Brown, a big part of their bench depth. They thought Peyton Watson was ready to step in but his minutes kept diminishing as the playoffs went on (despite constantly being in all those hotel.com commercials).

You can't just pencil these kids in to regular minutes, especially if it's someone who came in as a 19 year-old. I think you plan on him still being predominantly in Maine next year. If he plays well enough to deserve spot minutes, then that's a bonus.

One thing I would like to see them do is make sure Brown and Tatum have enough in the tank for another long playoff run (especially since Tatum is also in the Olympics this summer). That would probably require more wing depth, but I'm not sure if that equals real minutes for Walsh.

His best chance to even sniff the rotation next year is if Brissett leaves, and then get those minutes as the 3rd string wing/swing.

Brissett has a player option for slightly more than the minimum, I'm curious to see if there's any interest around the league for him (more money and/or bigger role).

But even without Brissett, he still has to earn the spot, as the team will likely sign a bunch of minimum guys who have more experience to fill out the back of the roster (like Banton, Stevens, Mykhailiuk last year), and Springer will be looking for minutes too (if he's brought back).

I'm not counting on seeing much Walsh next year.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Good point on Brissett, if he does opt out and leave (not likely in my opinion), that would certainly open up an opportunity for Walsh to move up the depth chart a little.

As I look at possible "rotation crackers", I wonder about Springer.  He was in the PHI rotation for a while.  He would need to beat out Pritchard.  That is not out of the realm of possibility.  He would need to up his game offensively of course, but his defense would a nice upgrade over Pritchard.

Wild guess is probably not. Not unless he's significantly improved his shooting.

Nah, I don't think so.

He needs to keep busting his ass, learning, getting stronger.  The shooting improvement is encouraging but only the first step - and shooting in Maine and Boston are two different things.

Maybe he can catch up to Brissett as a third-string energy forward (I anticipate Oshae picking up his option with us).  That would be a reasonable goal by the end of the year.  I don't think he's breaking into the top 8 unless a lot of guys miss time.

Sam will have another season in the wing rotation before Jordan has a shot at a STEADY rotation spot in his 3rd season with competition, of course. He might see Oshae minutes, but I really

Sam projects to be a cap casualty as he will receive good offers after his contract expires.

It would be great if he showed enough to force the issue, but I still think he's too young and raw. Seems pretty likely that Oshae will pick up his PO and stick around, and I see Oshae breaking into a regular rotation role before Walsh does.
