Big question:  do I take the day off and bring my kids, or try to catch it on TV?

You take the day off. Enjoy the long weekend and make a core memory with your kids.

is this really a question? OF COURSE you take your kids and enjoy the moment in person. make a day of it with the family.

take some pix and post'em if you can. have fun.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Take the kids. It may not feel like it with how much Boston has won lately but you aren't guaranteed moments like this anytime soon.

Got emergency paid time off from work.  Luckily my new boss is cool and will make it work.

Fly out of the Bay Area on Thursday.  Get in late.  My hotel is right along the parade route on Tremont St.  Hopefully there's room on the back streets so that I can walk towards the Hynes Convention Center as the parade progresses.  They're anticipating 1 million+ people.

Dropping a bunch of money to make this happen.  I think this team will win another title, but I'm treating this as a once in a lifetime opportunity.  Haven't been in Boston for over 10 years now.  It will be great to be back and be part of the Celtics championship.

No interest in going but so glad it?s actually happening.  Hope lots turn out and are sober, safe, and respectful of the city. Great team deserving of this.  Hope Brad gets some big fan response - what a job he?s done.

My work is nearby anyways so we are all planning on briefly stopping by along the parade route. But yeah it's getting packed already, and the city is gonna be crowded all day between this parade and also all the concerts + Boston schools being closed today.

For those out of town, it's streaming on the WCVB web site. Gotta love Mazzulla rocking the shirt with Red and Russell on it.

I think it's a sign of my own mortality that I find wishing for well-behaved Boston sports fans equal parts lovely and appalling.
