Losing this series would be as devastating as it gets sports-wise.

I?m not highly fearful of it yet, but if the Cs lose on Monday my stress will rise significantly. Game 4 was just a loss - not really different than losing by 1. But I can?t escape the idea that if it was close it would feel a bit different. The magnitude of the blowout is disconcerting.

I am confident the Celtics will win game 5. It's in Boston and role players, supporting cast in the Mavericks will not play as well. Kyrie will not play as well also like in games 1 and 2 vs games 3 and 4 at home in Dallas because the Celtics fans clearly own real estate in Kyrie's head. Luka on offense will be Luka but he will run out of energy to play the level of defense he played in game 4 due to lack of support from Kyrie and cast offensively. If the NBA brings out the extender refs, watch for gambling lawsuits to follow.

I get saying that the role players won?t play as well on the road, but to act like it?s a given Kyrie won?t play well bc it?s in Boston is lunacy.  I get that he?s had some bad games recently, but there?s been games where he?s went completely nuclear in Boston, even after whipping his foot on lucky.

Kyrie is psychologically sensitive to the negative things Boston fans say to him. All kyrie can do well is score. The Boston boos help him miss. It's no surprise that he played better in Dallas than in Boston

I'm very confident that this ends Monday. This is what this Celtics team has done all season, dominant basketball with blips of major letdowns now and then when they get too comfortable. They were due for a stinker after not having lost in over a month. If you were to tell me before the Finals started that we'd be coming back to Boston for game 5 up 3-1 I would have been super happy.

In 2008 in the ECF against the Pistons Doc told his team if you want it you have to go get it. Well it's time for the 2024 Celtics to get it.

Said we win in 5 from the get-go, and we're right on target for that. Game 4 was more about a desperate team trying their hardest to not be swept at home. I doubt they can play that hard and with that much intensity for three straight more games, especially with two in Boston and especially Luka playing with that level of effort defensively.

100% confident.

I think we should play desperate with nothing to lose. We play similar mindset with them so confidence would not be the victim.

Definitely the fear is about our schizophrenic team, especially the two foundation stars.
Their mental toughness and mental discipline have always been shaky.
Let's hope that Jaylen gets 'em cranked up and Jrue keeps them grounded in playing intense, but smart basketball and Jayson hits some shots.
Porzingis is the guy who really sets us apart from other teams and gives us a huge advantage over Dallas.
Just typical Celtics bad luck of the past 37 out of 38 seasons that our difference maker is injured (twice) during the playoffs.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

If our role players go cold like the mavs were in the first 3 games we are completely screwed relying on mr step back 3/missed layup who in all his finals games combined is shooting 36%
Need everyone to be on so he can just defer

Game 4 was a turd sandwich for everyone. Brown, white, holiday, horford, Tatum, PP.

Need a combination of three or four of the above to play closer to their norms.

Game was lost with effort. Got killed in the rebounding department and the lackadaisical turnovers.

It certainly was a turd sandwhich for everyone?only 1 of those guys is first team all nba and in MVP discussions this season. There?s even fans on this very site saying he had a good game in that 40 point loss and will now win finals mvp because of it. It?s no surprise the first game the rest of the team was off Tatum lost his cool and we lost by 40. Better hope Jaylen and our role players don?t go cold

The mvp talk is just ridiculous by everyone. It?s about winning a title. I get so tired of the who is the mvp of the finals talk.

Who cares. Get this thing over the finish line and give the finals mvp trophy to Brad Stevens.

It?s all there for the Celtics. Home. Great crowd. Chance to clinch. A special date for a lot of reasons. It?s storybook.

But we have seen this movie before where it turns into a horror story by the end. That?s my fear.

Yeah I agree I just don?t have a feel for what?s gonna happen, I truly believe it could go either way, they seem due for a mind boggling big home loss like they?ve been prone to do but they absolutely SHOULD win?is your confidence still sky high like it was after game 4?
