Just ready to get this going. It’s Boston vs everyone as most people are picking the mavs.

Definitely a 2008 vibe to it with the Celtics being discounted as the finals start.

I feel like I haven't watch a basketball game in forever.  I think this layoff is going to affect both teams.  I hate to make predictions, not for just superstition reason but also because I am usually wrong, but I expect both teams to be tight for this game.  A run at any point could make the difference.  Neither team is going to want to get behind.

The Celtics should have a meaningful advantage playing at home.  I don't expect the pressure or the crowd to affect Luka or Kyrie, but for everyone else on DAL, the bigness of the moment may impact them.  But the Celtics need to be on their game from the first possession.  Can't let DAL get confident, comfortable.  Get out early and let DAL feel some pressure.

I just hope the refs don’t push for a Mavs win to open the series to get more people to tune in for the rest of the games

Can't wait for the refs to fall for all of Luka's flopping BS.

I had said this in other thread, but I am adding it here for good luck.  Here is how things line up in my mind:

Guards:
Holiday/White       vs    Doncic/Irving  (advantage DAL)

Wings/Swings:
Tatum/Brown        vs    Washington/Jones  (advantage BOS)

Bigs:
Porzingis/Horford  vs    Gafford/Lively  (advantage BOS)

Depth:
Pritchard/Hauser   vs    Green/Hardy  (wash?)

I would say that the Wing advantage that BOS has is bigger than the Guard advantage that DAL has so I am going to call that a net slight advantage for BOS.  We should have an advantage with the bigs.  I am not sure how the depth guys will work out.  I don't see a big advantage in any case either way but if Hauser can remember how to shoot, we could win this group too.

It does not line up exactly but an important match up of sorts is how Holiday and White do relative to how Washington and Jones do.  White and Holiday have both been to the finals before.  They don't have to outplay Doncic and Kyrie, they just have to come closer than Washington and Jones come to Tatum and Brown.  I think this will be an important barometer for the series.

PJ Washington playing with a much better team defense than he did with the Hornets. Times are different now

Today's my parent's wedding anniversary too so probably gonna be occupied tonight, but of course I'll follow along here and Reddit.

Might not be a bad thing too. Watching these games live will give me so much anxiety

I guess that only applies to the Mavs...
