The first time in NBA history since MVP award was inaugurated in 1956 that two NBA teams in the NBA finals are without players who have won MVP or DPOY on their current roster. 88-89 Pistons was the last one to win without any since DPOY was established in 1983, although Rodman won DPOY the following year in their repeat.

Though I'm pretty sure Luka will win a regular season MVP award later than not. Tatum could win one if the Celtics continues to have successful seasons and capture his first championship.

That’s pretty crazy considering the top end talent on display. Luka and Tatum are both surefire All NBA 1st teamers but I guess they’re still young. I expect both to win an MVP when it’s all said and done
