Tim Legler says the two best under pressure players in this series both play for Dallas. Luka and Kyrie. The longest track of consistent clutch play under pressure.

You know it's funny because Kyrie has never won anything without LeBonds.  And even then he won just one title. It's pretty ridiculous the reputation he's gained just because of that one shot in one game.

Where has all this clutchness been in other seasons?  Like when Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and the celtics manhandled his Nets a couple years ago?

Also hasn't Dallas had some pretty big chokes this Post season?

So one of the most clutch shots of all time to win the title against a 73-9 team shouldn’t count?
Sorry but Tim Legler isnt wrong until the Celtics prove him wrong.

he was 1 of 4 down the stretch of that game. Obviously the 1 was huge, but he missed plenty of other shots

So again, dont count arguably one of the most clutch/important shots in nba history because he was 1 of 4 down the stretch?
Kyrie was sensational in that finals and until the Celtics prove otherwise the mavericks do indeed have the 2 most clutch players in the series.

Kyrie averaged 15ppg against OKC with SGA guarding him. have to wonder if Jrue/White will have success slowing him down somewhat. kawhi was injured in the clippers series and Conley isn't slowing Kyrie down. Boston has alot more defenders they can throw at him.

KP looms large in this series. even if he can just give us 25ppg and split with Horford. having 5 shooters on the floor at all times negates the Dallas defense which wants to have physical centers guarding the paint.

if Gafford/liveley sag off horford/KP they are going to get wide open 3's. If they decide to stay with them, who is going to guard the rim against tatum/brown/white/jrue?

be nice if Hauser can break out of his slump and hit some 3's off of tatum/brown drives.

Kyrie was great in that series. The Celtics have 7 or 8 of the 10 best players in this series. I'm not particularly worried.

I definitely see 5 of the best 10 in the series, one of which is a 7’3 made of glass guy that hasn’t played in a month.

Go back and watch the end of that game again.  The two two were something like 0-10 combined before Kyrie’s shot.  It was only clutch because both teams were preposterously unclutch leading up to it.

A big shot for sure, but for such an amazing game, both teams really did stink at the end (and it wasn’t necessarily because of fantastic defense).
Yup

Me neither.

This clutchness thing is being overblown.

Our guys , at least now seem to get up for playing against star players ……if Mavs two stars were out we couldn’t win .  So I like Tatum and Brown best when they are really challenged by great talent. …they rise to the occasion.

This matchup is not so much a rumble like with Knicks or Heat  , but two great basketball skill sets going at each other .  I think our stars like playing basketball , not fighting.

Also ….Holiday and Horford ,  two “H” s , are the glue and calming generals . They have had a good rest and recovery time for older bodies .

Because of the above , I like the Celtics chances this year.

I know you love to underrate the Celtics talent. But PJ Washington is their #3 it’s debatable if he’s as good as even Jrue/white

Dallas has 3 players averaging double figures. That’s it

I too am getting more and more terrified. Lol.

I hope we bring a little bit of not dirty but nastiness into the series. You saw it when we faced the Warriors Draymonds physicality and getting into our heads kinda turned the series around for them. Especially with most of the Mavs roster being the first time on this stage. We really don’t have that KG or Draymond type guy on this team. Smart was that here’s to looking at hopefully JB to be the one taking no crap and playing with force.

lift up your skirt and grab your cojones. LOL.man up. its GO TIME.

JT goes 25% on clutch shots and I gurantee you you're not focusing on that 25%....

I was listening to Tim Legler's recent video on the most important players in the series. He went

(1) Luka
(2) Tatum
(3) Jaylen = very high on Jaylen, near Tatum level
(4) Kyrie

(5) Gafford / Lively
(6) D White

Legler admitted he cheated a bit with Gafford / Lively as a duo. They are not as good as BOS guys as individuals but as a tandem they have had a huge impact on games. So he cheated and added them as a tandem. Fair enough. I get his reasoning here.

Legler then picked D White as his last guy. He could have gone Porzignis or Jrue. Or even PJ Washington. He had PJ Washington as close to D White and Jrue. That shocked me. I don't rate PJ anywhere near that level. I wouldn't even have him in the discussion.

I see Jrue and D White as borderline top 10 PGs. Or top 10 SGs. Porzingis as a sure fire top 10 center. I have PJ Washington more in the low 20s among PFs. I don't see him as anywhere near the same caliber of player as our guys.

Dallas do not have anyone like Draymond either. They got two young bigs. Neither are bruisers. PJ Washington is their only forward with size & phsyicality (and even he is not that big or physical). Well, and Luka. Who is a bruiser on offense. Not an intimadator otherwise.

Two teams more on the finesse side of things. Neither have that enforcer type presence on their squads.
