I just need the refs to decide what qualifies as a foul and call it consistently. That's it. That's all.
This. I'm all for a less restrictive whistle that clearly favors the offense, but it has to be consistent.
Feels like they're struggling with what seems to clearly be a directive from the league to tide the offensive eruption a bit and give the defense more ability to impact the game.
It's not even about calling the game in favor of one side. The in-game inconsistency is the most frustrating part for me. They'll call something a foul in the 1st quarter and then suddenly it's a play-on in the 3rd. They need to make up their minds, is it a foul or not?
To me, the ideal of NBA officiating is making calls that aren't clearly influenced by the game flow or score.
