JB played like a monster, free throws aside, but we need our best guy to be our best guy to become champions.  Period.

we didn’t need him to be our best guy; we just needed him to show up.

the big game JT disappearing acts continue to be very concerning. regardless of his delusions, dude is not a mamba.

Concerning what I’ve seen the last two games.
Saturday will be tough

Hah. Saturday is a must-win game. Lose that and this team is finished in the East Semis or East Finals.

Biggest game of the year, and Tatum puts up a 14 point on 13 shot effort with 5 TOs and poor overall effort on both ends all night.

Have to say, in terms of individual games, this is as bad as I can remember him playing in a consequential game. Just a major disappointment.

This one was big in terms of psyche, especially with this group. You just know this is going to come back and haunt us if we meet Denver in the Finals. We'll be in our own heads and not play up to our potential, similar to 2022 Finals.

Frustrating game, but they had a shot at the lead with under a minutes left despite several of our players having uncharacteristically poor games, missing tons of free throws and open threes that they usually make. Terrible outcome, but it doesn’t seem like a basis to assume that they can’t beat Denver.
Being 0 for 2 in the regular season is a good basis to assume they can't beat Denver.

That White 3 too, it was a good look, can’t ask for more than that.

An NBA Finals matchup would be thrilling, definitely a 7 Game series

Really good effort out of JB tonight. One of the worst games I can remember out of Tatum.
Quoting Nick from the now locked Ime thread:

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Tatum sucks, oh well. At least Jrue showed his worth in crunch time.

One would wonder if they win tonight if Marcus Smart was playing though

I don't think we played completely terrible as a team tonight.   We never gave up and really made things tough on them.   We just couldn't stop Jokic when he had the ball in the post.   Over and over again, he either scored or found the open man.

JB was outstanding (minus the FT issues), and that steal that he got late could have won the game for us.

Denver is the worst possible opponent for Boston coming out of the West

From what I saw that employed the Warriors strategy to a certain extent. They dropped on Tatum and allowed Brown to operate. It worked

In place of Tatum, yes.

Exactly right.

And we're going to have to figure out the Jokic/KP issue. He clearly is too small to guard Jokic, and while Horford/X can't stop him either, they at least make it much more difficult for him due to their size.

Not sure what the answer is, other than we just have to play double big more and stagger more of KP's minutes with Jokic on the bench.

C's answered zero questions tonight lol A stacked team but unless Tatum gives them much needed scoring it will not matter.

Denver is the worst possible opponent for anyone in the NBA. They’re awesome. Jokic is the best player on the planet and it’s not close right now
