What’s nice is, this team feels so dialed in. Even when guys are hurt or resting the next guys step up. They may struggle for stretches but fight to the end.
We have more talent but I also think getting rid of some of the egos and somewhat flawed players in Smart and GWill have helped. With Smart gone it reinforces the Jays as our best players and leaders and they have looked the part lately
We’re pretty good in the clutch nowadays too which is encouraging (take away the refs though…)
It's like every single player, from the starters, through to 6-9, through to the deep bench, knows exactly what their role is and is ok with it. Then the issues get isolated to failed execution, rather than different agendas, or confusion over who does what, or frustration over minutes, who's in charge, etc.
Who knew that everyone singing from the same hymn sheet, all following the conductor, could make such good music
