It's only one game but everything screamed trap game and yet they come out like clowns. It's this mindset that makes you think they just don't have what it takes to step up when it's really needed.

Just unbelievable. How are you not prepared to play this game? EVERYONE knew exactly how this was going to play out given the losing streak and playing against us with a target on our back, especially at home, yet we still can't even come out prepared and do anything but jack threes?

This is why so many of us are still questioning Joe and his overall radical three point shooting scheme. Without the likes of a Curry, Thompson, etc., this type of scheme is just too risky with too much variance in the playoffs. Further, it doesn't seem like Joe differentiates between high and low quality threes at all, with us shooting a good proportion of low quality threes.
It’s not always the coach’s fault. At some point you need to look at the players. We all knew the effort would be lacking tonight by this team. This performance is NOT surprising in the least. When your stars don’t bring the energy and just go through the motions, it is evident.

Never said it was just the coach's fault. It's absolutely on both the coach and the players, particularly our best player in Tatum who is just settling for bad jumpshots and low energy all half.

But Joe's overall radical three point shooting scheme just exacerbates these issues with not being ready to play or sustain themselves through bad stretches. Ever since Stevens we've been a three point shooting team, but never to the extreme extent that Joe has us at right now. With our personnel it's just not a winning formula for the long haul, especially in the playoffs when things tighten up. We struggle every single time we're not hitting a high percentage of our three point shots that we shoot a ton of, and we simply don't have any backup plans when they don't fall. Joe's answer is just to keep shooting those shots, which leads to the non-sense we're seeing now where we shoot more than 50% of our shots from three despite only shooting at 16%.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Just undid all the good they did out west in one half of basketball.

Celtics seem to enjoy losing to garbage teams. First charlotte and now the worst team in the history of the sport

Maybe JB is more important to this team than a lot of people understand.

These guys are good enough to turn this game around.  Take care of business, play defense, and go to the basket.

But that's the problem - we don't do this. We just keep shooting, and there's no direction from the top to change the strategy when the shots aren't falling. Just more of the same.

Wouldn't say they undid all good.

But it is an issue and embarrassment that they continue to play down to teams considering what the results have been the last few years.

If the Celtics don’t make volume 3s they are painfully average.
Don’t play defense don’t even attempt to play inside

This just screams trap game...team that has lost 27 in a row avoids tying the worst ever losing streak of 28 by beating the NBA favorites in an epic upset.

Called it…they have two quarters to prove me wrong. If they lose this game to the worst team in the NBA fire them all >:(

Year after year we see the Celtics play down to poor teams…including in the playoffs.
