  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
But this team is totally different than last year, right? Only difference is now we don’t have a 2029 pick and we’ve exploded past the 2nd apron

Why the hell are we not playing our best big in Porzingis? Only 11 minutes in the first half. We just trying to limit his minutes so that we can lose tonight all so he can play tomorrow? Ridiculous.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

These guys don't have the competitive spirit. Losing isn't a big deal to them.

They're one of the laziest teams I've ever seen.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

Wish I would have bet this game. Saw this coming a mile away.

Absolutely no accountability from the top down

It’s nights like tonight why the Celtics will not win the title.
Cannot get blown out at home to a terrible team.

likely cause he’s been ahead of the curve on fouls so far

we are 4/20 from 3
and 9/16 from 2

lets get to the rim.

Shoot more threes.  No adjustments.

I hate that 'lets just shoot ourselves out of our cold 3 point shooting'
get some points, even if they are old fashioned layups.  that will draw fouls, get us to the line.

This game is the perfect synopsis of this Celtics era.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

No defense, no energy. Team looks like they expected the pistons to roll over.

Just unbelievable. How are you not prepared to play this game? EVERYONE knew exactly how this was going to play out given the losing streak and playing against us with a target on our back, especially at home, yet we still can't even come out prepared and do anything but jack threes?

This is why so many of us are still questioning Joe and his overall radical three point shooting scheme. Without the likes of a Curry, Thompson, etc., this type of scheme is just too risky with too much variance in the playoffs. Further, it doesn't seem like Joe differentiates between high and low quality threes at all, with us shooting a good proportion of low quality threes.
It’s not always the coach’s fault. At some point you need to look at the players. We all knew the effort would be lacking tonight by this team. This performance is NOT surprising in the least. When your stars don’t bring the energy and just go through the motions, it is evident.

I'm curious, though:  what *is* a coach responsible for?

I would just like an explanation regarding what Joe is actually good at compared to the other 29 head coaches.  It's not Xs and Os, in game adjustments, getting the guys prepared for games, calling timeouts, calling plays, etc.

Easier to settle for jumpers than atrack.

They're lazy.

This is a well deserved loss. I hope they get blasted. This is a real eye opening loss that they are frauds.

well, i guess the positive point is that there is still a half of basketball left which is enough time for the celtics to remove their collective heads from their collective butts and win this thing.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

These guys are good enough to turn this game around.  Take care of business, play defense, and go to the basket.
