The pacers are shooting 46% from 3pt.
Hard to win nowadays when the opponent shoots that well from 3. Huge advantage for Indy.
Maybe if we stopped gifting them wide open threes time after time they wouldn't get into a rhythm. It's like we didn't watch any film or gameplan for this team at all. And then no in-game adjustments to boot.
I'm not trying to bash Kornet here. But I don't understand why Joe keeps subbing him in at inopportune times against opponents. In this game, we were rebounding well enough to try a more mobile "big". Even if that's Brisett it's worth a shot. We needed the defensive mobility since we were getting slaughtered by their 3's the entire game. Not drop coverages with a slow big.
That's on Joe. Kornet did some good things in his minutes, but it didn't outweigh his defensive liabilities. I thought we should have made an adjustment much earlier.
Yep. Despite people pointing at his stat line, he gave up just as much as he helped. And to be honest, Al wasn't much better.
But because Brissett and Stevens aren't big shooters, they just don't get the time. It makes no sense. Not sure how you watch them consistently burn us in the isolation mismatch or the high pick and pop with the bigs too slow to recover and not even consider going smaller to cover that. Or hell, just play small with Hauser instead of Brissett or Stevens if you want to keep the shooting.
Do something. Don't just hope a great three point shooting team is going to miss wide open threes, particularly when neither of the bigs were particularly effective on the other end either.
