well, down by 1 at the half, on the road, minus porzinas and brown. not terrible.

celtics need to hit their shots, especially hauser. i think they did not go to tatum much to try and not wear him out early and to other involved. outcome =/= great. i expect to see tatum much more active in the second half.

JT (1/6), Sam (1/5), and Jrue (1/4) need to start making their 3s.

Get your best player involved in the offense, Joe! Do your job, man. Run a play or action for him. Do something instead of sitting there watching the lead evaporate with your hands in your pockets.

Sometimes it’s just on the players bro..why do you blame every last thing on Joe? Lol

Because that's his job? They're not running anything, particularly for JT. Not getting him mismatches, in the post, or anything. Joe just sat there and watched everyone else take turns iso'ing and trying to score. How's that worked out?

Was it joes fault Tatum just bricked a wide open 3?

The logic isn't that hard to follow, bro.

Him shooting and missing is going to happen, but it was a good shot for him off a PnR. I'll take that over our lesser players trying to do their own offense.

Our best player not getting any action or sets run for him to create offense for himself or others is absolutely a failure, particularly when down your second and third best players. That includes the coaches who should be doing things on their end to ensure their best player is engaged in the offense and not being overlooked.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Extremely disappointing quarter by Tatum. He’s supposed to be 1st Team All-NBA and he was barely noticeable out there. We needed him to put his imprint on this game and instead the team fell apart when he came back in.

Going to be hard to get the W honestly. Built a 17 point lead, but completely collapsed. I know we are without JB and KP, but the game was there for the taking and we completely mailed it in

Celts @ 30% from three, Sixers @ 41%.

Tatum has had lulls like this his entire career and especially in the playoffs. Seems like a player issue to me.

Blew up a 17-point lead and Joe sits on his ass watching.

5 game suspension for Green. Good. Dirty player and a long history of his dirty play. Put the smack down on him.

Players also just missed wide open shots and stopped defending?
I wish Joe could will those shots to go in and get out there and play defense too but he can’t.

I actually really like how we're playing on offense.  I like the shots we're getting.  Just need to hit them.  Jrue, Tatum, and Hauser need to do better than a combined 3-15 on open three-point shots.

Defense is the bigger problem.  They actually closed the lead down without Embiid on the floor, which concerns me.  I would have hoped we could have treaded water or even extended the lead despite being shorthanded when Embiid was out.  Now he's going to be reasonably fresh in the second half, and with a one-point lead to boot.  Not ideal.

Just sad to watch.

Which is why I have no confidence in winning a title with Mazzulla.
He has to call a timeout and straighten out the offense when it gets out of whack like that.

If the players can’t stay focused and play hard without a coach constantly reminding them too then we aren’t winning anything, even if red Auerbach or Phil Jackson were our  duel head coaches. Players league.
