The Oilers pulled a Mavs. Down 3-0 wkth game 4 at home, the Oilers crished the Panthers 8-1 to stay alive.

Very similar huh
Yep top seed clearly superior in first 3 games with a closer game 3 against a mid tier playoff team from other conference who staves off elimination with a massive beating in game 4 to even or take the lead in the total points

Come to think of it, even the Panthers approach is similar to the Celtics. Except for the skates part.
Yup

Speaking of a 3-0 lead, Panthers had it and now the Oilers have won two in a row. 3-2, heading back to Edmonton for Game 6. Panthers in danger of blowing a 3-0 lead?

It's probably too much to hope for, but seeing the Panthers lose the series?by blowing a 3-0 lead, no less?would be fantastic. Plus, with the Bruins out of it, it would be cool to have a Canadian team (that's not a Canadien team) win the Cup.

Imagine losing a Stanley Cup, returning to the Stanley Cup a year later with a 3-0 lead, and now that comes down to a Game 7. I would be losing my mind if that happened to my team lol

I tuned in for the 3rd period last night.  The Edmonton crowd was awesome.  Would love to see them finish off Florida.

This is twice in 2 years a Miami team has blown a 3-0 series lead.

Rooting hard for Edmonton to do what the Celtics couldn't do last year. Watching Miami fans melt down twice in a week would be lovely.

I was pulling for the Panthers because Jayson's buddy is on that team.

Though Edmonton winning would be wild. They might just pull it off. Reverse sweep incoming.

Ottawa will retain 25% of Korpisalo's salary.

I would have rather kept Ullmark in this case. Unless they have a separate trade to flip Korpisalo but otherwise... HUH??

This was the last year of Ullmark's 4 yr, $20m deal. He won the Vezina last year and he's not as good as Swayman. Sweeney has decided that the younger guy is the starter, and the 30 year old Ullmark is expendable. He was shopped at this year's trade deadline.

They're getting back the late first rounder that they traded to Detroit for Bertuzzi. I'm fine with that, assuming they draft someone useful.

Mark Kastelic is a big, young 4th line forward that hasn't produced much yet.

Korpisalo is 30 like Ulmark. He started the most games last year for Ottawa, but he wasn't very good. Apparently there's a team opt-out He was Bobrovsky's backup in Columbus, and could be decent as a backup goalie here. Swayman is the guy.

Gritty win for the Panthers. They are tough and can skate. Great combo.

Time for Don Sweeney to sharpen the pencil and pick someone talented Friday night.
