Any news when Vuc is coming back?

Nothing official but the team and Mazzulla have hinted to reporters there's a good chance he'll be back a week before the season ends (so maybe this upcoming weekend).

Vucevic said the same too a week ago, that he hopes to get like 3-4 games in before the playoffs.

Nice. He needs to get up to speed in time for the playoffs.

Steph Noh: I asked Joe Mazzulla what winning COTY would mean to him. "I think it's a stupid award. They shouldn't have it. It's more about the players. It's more about the work that the staff puts in. It's that simple, and I don't ever want to be asked or talk about it again."

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Joe being Joe......

I am OK with this and I think it is beneficial to the team that he does not try to make this about him.  I think the players appreciate this.

the comments about the team winning in 2024 in spite of him seem to have hit home.   ;D

I will give him credit for how the team is playing this year.  he's definitely getting the most out of everyone and has this team winning at a much  better clip than I would have ever dreamed of.  now if he could come up with a Plan B offensive scheme when the team is bricking from 3 instead of just blindly sticking to it.

I like that he isn't invested in winning the award. He could probably be more gracious in his response, but that's who he is i guess.  For 20 years I didn't like Belichick and was nonetheless glad he was the coach.  I find Joe strange and interesting and though I usually am not crazy about people who are rude to interviewers, I pass a lot of Joe's behavior off as just being odd.  I just hope he coaches well.

Hopefully Durant and the Rockets can hold on vs. the Knicks. Up 13 at halftime.

Up 20 with 3 minutes left now.  I think they will pull it off.

I had to turn it off.  Did Houston hang on?

Miraculously they locked it down on defense and stayed ahead by 17  :)

This got buried in a game thread after the game was over, so I'll repost it here.

The poster I was responding to was commenting on how smart it was to draft PP when the C's had the opportunity.

Looking back at the 2020 draft, if we redid it today, I might put PP at #6 overall-- which is kind of insane.  I'm sure others will think I'm insane for suggesting that too!

But it's even more "insane" that Maxey and Bane would be re-drafted so highly.

    The top five
(in purple) are in a class all their own. And honestly, I only put Bane in the top five group because of the draft capital it took for Orlando to get him.

But the next five (in green) are comparable.  I'd still put PP at the top of that second class.

Re-draft
1 Anthony Edwards
2 Tyrese Haliburton
3 Tyrese Maxey
4 LaMelo Ball
5 Desmond Bane

6 Payton Pritchard
7 Isaiah Stewart
8 Deni Avdija
9 Devin Vassell
10 Aaron Nesmith[/li][/list]
