I do not think Garza is a star in the making.  But Timberwolf reddit seems to like the guy.

I know this means nothing, he is known for playing hard.

I do think he will be good at setting picks.

This comment says it all about Garza:

"He's a garbage time king. Can score in all kinds of ways that make the end of blowouts fun to watch. If he were even a bad defender, as opposed to an unplayably awful one, he'd he making a lot more than the league minimum."

Get it done Brad!

I saw that as well.  I think Boston should offer the best opportunity but he still has his house in Portland and may want to be closer to home.  It will be interesting to see if he chooses to stay closer to home or go to a team that doesn't really have an established PG like the C's.  Plus being able to rehab with Tatum who is going through the same injury could also be a good support system he chooses as well.

Is there any indication Lillard wants to sign with a new team quickly?

Why do we want Lillard?

We have two similar scoring guards in Pritchard an A Simons and neither of them are 35yo coming off a career threatening achilles injury.

Because Simons isn't staying in Boston and Dame could be a much cheaper option with the Bucks already paying him.

I?m going to go out on a limb and say that Lillard isn?t interested in coming to Boston.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I'm not so sure.

Pros to coming to Boston:
- Milwaukee is already going to pay him his full contract so no financial loss coming to Boston unless some other team is going to wildly overpay a 35 year old player coming off a severe leg injury.
- Boston isn't looking for him to do anything other than recover during the next year.  no pressure to get on the court too soon
- Boston will be in a position to compete for a title after this coming season with Tatum back, Brown, White, Pritchard and probably some other good pieces when they're ready to rebuild the team with good/quality players.  A much better situation than he had in Portland and in Milwaukee.
- Opportunity to share a rehab experience with another league star in Tatum to help get through that process.
- C's have an opening at starting PG that would fit him and have solid defenders to help cover for him on D as well as several other top offensive players that can take that burden off of him on offense.

only real reason Boston would not be a top landing spot is if another team offers a ridiculous amount of money

Our PF situation is still ugly. Minott (who is thin), Tillman (who can't get off the bench) and Niang.

Combine that with a center combo of Garza and Queta and whew boy that stinks.

Very true, but our guard rotation is among the best in the NBA still.

To be a true contender again, we will either need one of bigs to take a monster leap, or we will need Brad to figure something out over the next year.

I am all for Brad trading Simons for a cheaper power forward or big. Shed money and get a player in return that you can use.

Opens the door for PP to start.

this is what I'm anticipating by the trade deadline.  Maybe a move of Niang/Tillman beforehand to get a cheap project that can play the 4/5

A young player and two future 1sts can get Kessler.

Go do it Brad!

That's a pretty gross overpay for Kessler. He's, at best, Jakob Poetl, and he's not even that good yet.
