Still think a Niang + seconds for Nick Richards deal works and helps. Richards also makes 3M less so it can work where we get under the second apron again

Think we're waiting on the Al decision. If that happens, then I agree with you. Don't love that we are now hoping that our bigs rotation will be anchored by Nick Richards, but here we are

Al is not resigning with us this coming year. I am almost positive of that. GSW or Lakers. He would actually be great on the Knicks or Bucks as well but dont want to see that happen, We know he wont go back to the Sixers!

According to a Reddit thread posted before the signing, Minott had asked the Wolves to decline his option so he could find a team with a better path towards playing time.  It does really seem Brad is aboard the single-season tank train, taking flyers on guys who could be in our rotation next year at a low cost while feeding them minutes.  Looks like we?ll have an elite NBA backcourt and a G league frontcourt.  Maybe we will find some diamonds in the rough.
I'm good with a single season tank.  Don't see why Minott and Garza were signed on 2-year deals.  Going back to the draft I'd rather have Reynaud as a potential diamond in the rough than Minott or Garza who have had 3 and 4 years in the NBA to prove themselves.

Bigs can take a while to develop. I guess they viewed the Garza, Williams, Shulga as a better proposition than Raynaud + 2 UFAs as Two ways.

If they are going to tank then it's imperative they get under the luxury tax line and reset.  Jus getting under the 2nd apron isn't good enough if they are doing a quite tank.  If JB goes down at all this team is a top 10 pick territory.  I just wish we had some better young talent to watch develop.  We have some that I'm excited to see but our 2nd round picks this year I don't have much excitement over.  Hugo on the other hand I can't wait to watch fly around.

Yeah Hugo and Baylor are the main attractions for me this year. Also Brown handling 1st option duties should be interesting.

Im sure the team would love to get under the tax altogether but its exceedingly difficult to do without sending out picks, Brown, or White.

They could salary dump Niang and Hauser but that wont get them all the way there. Theyd still need to trim another 4-5 million via Simons.

IMO, Brown getting injured is pretty likely. His games missed the last five years ('20-'21 to '24-'25) are 24, 16, 15, 12, and 19. Some of those are just normal rest, but he has some injury every season. Next year's team, at full strength, will have no depth to begin with, so any game he misses will be virtually a guaranteed loss.

So ... Minott is a SF who can't really shoot?

Don't we already have two of those in Jordan Walsh and Hugo Gonzalez?

Assuming no Horford ...

With Jaylen, this team is in top 10 pick territory
Without Jaylen, this team is in top 5 pick territory

I am more excited about Garza than the 2nd round pick options (Raynaud, Kalkbrenner). Garza is already a couple of years into his NBA education. He is more likely to help the team next year.

Nah, not for me.

Niang > N Richards.

Also, I'd rather roll with Queta & Garza than N Richards. Queta has legit size for a center. N Richards doesn't. They are both low skilled guys but I'll pick the one with legit size. Garza has an offensive skill set. N Richards doesn't. Garza is bad on defense; yeah, but so is N Richards. So I will take the guy who has some offense.

N Richards doesn't upgrade anything other than the 3rd string C slot on X Tillman.

Do we care if guys can marginally help than rookies?  Do we care about winning 36 games instead of 32?

I like Garza for both the present and the long term.

Raynaud has similar defensive problems as Garza. Garza hasn't done well as an NBA player yet but his offense is more proven and trustworthy than Raynaud's offense.

Kalkbrenner is a different type of player than the other two (offensive centers). Maybe he has more long term potential. Maybe he doesn't. Not sure. So I will take Luka Garza who has more short term potential given uncertain long term potential differences.

I just care about losing the most games or being a 50+ win team

That we do. Seems to be Brad's favor kind of player. Athletic, energy and absolutely zero shooting ability.

Garza will give this team nothing. He just isn't any good. He is simply a cheap body to get them through this season. He cannot defend anyone. He is slow footed and will get bullied in the paint. Not sure where all this hopium is coming from with him.

Same with the other T wolves guy. This team is set up to tank quietly. JT being hurt is a built in factor that helps this.

They are a lottery team in 2025 as constructed which is what Brad and company wants. Just move out more and become a contender for the top pick. Even if Brown stays healthy they are top 10 lottery.

The Warriors, Celtics and Lakers are among the teams that have interest in doing a deal with Damian Lillard sooner rather than later, sources tell
@eric_nehm
,
@sam_amick
 and
@joevardon
.

Lillard received calls from several contending teams quickly after the news of his Bucks? ending broke. The question is whether he wants to sign with a team now and rehabilitate while under their care or wait until next summer to reassess the situation.
