Cs should sign Dame on the cheap, bring him in and let him rehab with Tatum. Have him for 2026 see what he has.

I like that idea.

We've had a few recent forays into the terrain of "undersized PG who is talented offensively but limited defensively" and it never really worked here.

Low cost, high upside.

Once Damian Lillard clears waivers, he will be an unrestricted free agent rehabbing an Achilles injury and turning 35 in July.

Do not be surprised if there are a few teams wanting to sign him to a 2-year contract, rehab him with their training staff, and take a chance.

Get it done Brad.  Waive JD and sign Dame to a 2 yr minimum contract.  Let him rehab with JT.

I don't know that we can afford to have two roster spots on the long term IL.  I guess you can get a waiver for one or the other and then keep Davison.

Unless the Celtics offload some salary through trades they are likely done.

But they are quite likely to continue to move salary, so they are presumably not done.

They also have a couple of non-guaranteed contracts to dispose of if someone they like more at the minimum agrees to sign.

There's a spot available for Horford. If we don't resign him, I'm guessing Stevens will immediately have a fall-back option, much like how we immediately signed Garza when Kornet signing with the Spurs was announced.

There's still talk about more trades coming. My guess is, they're going to try to shed even more salary and be in position to make a move next summer.

With the apron penalties and Tatum's injury, this is the smart thing to do. I don't think we'll see a full tank but they're going to make themselves as flexible as possible to be in the mix on any available talent next summer.

There is a spot, but they are not going to go back over the 2nd apron. So in reality they?d need to shed salary to sign him to anything more than a couple million dollars.

Yeah, I predict that the next move for BOS will be someone going out, not someone coming in.  For example, Niang being traded or something like that.  We have a bunch of "free" second round picks to facilitate something like that.  I am not expecting to see Horford resign here.

The focus probably will be and should be on the summer league and getting these rookies signed.  Finalize the 2-way players.  Start to see how these guys look.  How does Amari Williams look for example.  The Fireworks are probably over.

Figure that out at the trade deadline.

No need to have all the answers now.

Meh. If you aren't competitive right now, may as well use it on a low-risk, high-upside type of player that you think could turn into your next Kornet.
