Garza is my favorite example of how certain college skills don't translate at all. He was the first back to back college player of the year since Jordan...literally can't play in the NBA.

Really sickening how fast the Celtics window closed. Went from title favorites to a dumpster team in one year.

Pretty much. :-\
This is because being mired in mediocrity is the worst possible place to be in the NBA, and Brad knows it. Tatum injury = domino effect.

I agree, but going from the penthouse to the cellar in no time is nonetheless disheartening.

Skilled big, horrible at defense, fan favorite in Minnesota

Bad player, but what are you going to do when you have no money and arent contending

Wow. This is gonna be like watching those mid-'90s Celtics teams with Dino. Of course, those teams weren't expected to do much, never close to a title window, whereas this team has gone from royalty to irrelevance in a heartbeat.

Yeah, but if we don?t sign Dominique Wilkins, then I?m gonna be mad

I cant believe they signed Garza.  What a waste of a roster spot.

To go along with the Tillman wasted roster spot, the Niang wasted roster spot, and probably more wasted roster spots to come.

At this point, f- it, just trade Brown and White. Not that I want them gone at all, but this is just stupid at this point. If we?re going to tank, let?s do it right.

I wonder if he can still dunk, lol.

30-32 win team. Lottery team.

This team is going to rival some of the worst Celtics years ever. They aren't even going to be competitive.

Just dump Simons and Niang for nothing. Get under the first apron. Sell out for the lottery.

Try to build a legit NBA roster in 2026. If that is not the goal, trade them all.

as fast as things came crashing down related to the 2nd apron and Tatum's injury, things will be built back up again at the end of next year and next summer to put another contender together.

Don't trade White, don't trade JB.   Take the year pause, take up some meditation, lower your expectations for 2025-26.  But we will be a contender again after Tatum gets back.   Patience people.

It's hard to be patient when you see a wasted season incoming.

I thought that also...but now I am not so sure. JT might never be the same player again and with new ownership...once you get under the aprons they aren't going to want to spend big money again to field a contender. I think we saw our opportunity for a second title with this group end in games 1 and 2 vs the Knicks.

Tatum can take a team of nobodies to the playoffs. He is amazing. I?m just not sure we?ll be able to build up quite as quickly, especially if we?re going to try and duck the repeater tax by getting under two years in a row.

If that happens, then any of the TPEs we create will be gone. And, honestly, we just don?t have enough picks to replenish our talent in pick oriented trades anyway.

I get it, believe in Brad, but watching this team dismantle in the matter of days is depressing. Regardless, it?s the end of this era, and the start of another. How good the next era will be remains to be seen

Team has a massive amount of dead weight now: Garza, Niang, Tillman, Peterson, Davison, even Walsh.

Step back from the ledge lol.   Tatum's doctor just said a week or two ago that because Tatum is young, had the surgery very quickly, and is doing really well post op, that he should be fine after his rehab.   We were one of the first good teams that had to re-configure due to the new cap rules.  Do you think we will be the last?   Get JT healthy and let Brad find some other pieces to put around PP, DW, JB, and JT.  In the meantime enjoy watching some players that might not be here in 2026-27 .

We probably aren't going to collect such a great team that won it all in 23-24.  BUT the east kind of sucks right now.  The knicks are going to have some salary issues of their own eventually, the Cavs can't seem make it to true contender level.  Keep DW, JB, PP for when JT gets back.  Find some other good players.  Those 4 core players are tough, battle tested, and by next season will be hungry to go deep in the playoffs again.  The whole team seemed mentally and physically done even before Tatum's injury.

One thing is for sure. Tatum should not play one minute next season.

JB should be load managed as much as possible
