I know its one game, but he was this way all pre-season too. but who is this guy? I never really had him on my radar. remember him being electric with the Knicks but then kinda fell off the nba scene. But hitting smooth 3 pointers, blocking shots, dunks

he was bad with dallas. was he just misused? Luka a selfish player?

then obviously being on a dumpster fire of washington guess I never paid attention to how he upped his game the last 2 years.

when they traded for him I was like "Porzingus, is he even good? let alone the price we paid for the trade?" then was surprised to see his stats in washington.

but now, I see what Brad saw in wanting to bring him here. the dynamic he brings is something we have not seen since maybe KG. he really opens the floor for tatum/brown. and vice versa the attention they get leaves him with wide open shots/dunks

It's Porzingis not Porzingus.

He’s just a little bit better than what we gave up for him. I still can’t believe the deal Brad pulled off.

I think what happened is that he was not happy to be traded to Dallas and even less happy about being traded to Washington.  Now he is happy.  He was always a good player, albeit with durability issues.  Even though I don't think he was bought in at DAL or WAS, he always played hard and actually continued to put up pretty good numbers all along.  Career about 20 pts, 8 rebs, 36% from 3, 2 blocks, 2 assists, and more than serviceable defense/rim protection.

Keeping him on the court is a fair concern of course.  He has had injuries, and will likely have them in the future.  But I think we can work around that.

He and Doncic should have dominated.  It was major failure by DAL.  DAL sent out Porzingis and a 2nd to WAS for guard Spencer Dinwiddie and forward Davis Bertans.  Ouch.

Dallas won at a good level with the Zinger and his stats were pretty similar at all 3 places before Boston.  I think the idea that he was bad in Dallas just isn't borne in reality.  Now he and Luka didn't appear to get along well, but that was more personality based than basketball based.  On the court Zinger played well in Dallas

He's always been a great player, not always utilized the way he should have been, especially in Dallas.
But the issue has been and always will be his durability. How valuable is a player if he is only available 50% of the time?

Hopefully he stays healthy. The way Mazulla utilizes his main guys (minutes wise) is definitely a concern so i think we just need to cross our fingers for the best.
