I know video game ratings like Madden and 2k can be subjective, but I always find it interesting to see how our players are ranked. Any thoughts on these rankings? https://www.2kratings.com/teams/boston-celtics

I love the descriptions, such as Porzingis as a "2-way inside-out scorer" and both JB/JT as "2-way walking buckets". In fact, our top 6 players are considered 2-way players.

Top 6 players are ranked 95-82, then a drop-off to Svi and Wenyen Gabriel at 74.

I think there's space for us to try to get another big man in the mid to high 70's range, whatever that means. Free agents: https://www.2kratings.com/teams/free-agency
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

I'd take anything that puts the Lakers, Grizzlies, Heat, and Cavs into a higher tier than the defending champion Nuggets with a massive heap of salt.
I'm bitter.

Wow- that's a wildly inaccurate ranking. The Nuggets are 3rd in the league at worst.

I didn't even see the tiers- was just looking at the individual rankings. I think they got the Celtics right, though 86 might be rich for Porzingis given his career to date. I'm most concerned about him remaining healthy and available for approximately 100 games.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

Interesting that Jaylen, Harden and Lil Trae are all at 89, above Murray and Anthony Edwards at 88. Dame at 94. And how is LeBum still at 96.

There's space, but to get someone in the mid-to-high 70s (like an Olynyk or a Mo Bamba using these ratings as an example) it's all about the Benjamins, which we don't have much of. Why won't they just let us have nice things [dang it]

Of course, things could be very different come deadline time, when a need may become a lot more compelling - more of a must have than a nice to have. Right now any other depth improvement we would like is just a nice to have, that we hope won't need to be used. Like buying insurance. But after a few months of seeing how this team players some obvious gaps might appear and I think that would be the time Brad pulls the trigger to definitively get us over the second apron for good.
