That's a bad loss for the Cavs. I expect the Bucks will finish in the 2 seed. Cavs 3. Knicks 4.

5-8 is going to rotate each night.

That'd be a nice outcome for us. Cheering for the Sixers to stay in 6th or 7th. It would be a major bummer if they slid to the play-in game without Joel, he comes back in time for the playoffs and suddenly you're facing the Sixers in the first round, Heat in the semis, Bucks in the Finals. Leave us Orlando to start with.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe
Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka

26 rebounds in 36 minutes for Drummond tonight.

17 defensive rebounds. 9 offensive rebounds.

And pitched in 17 points.  Very productive, at least in terms of box score (his +/- was +1).  That is the Andre Drummond from a few years ago.  He started alongside of Vucevic, so CHI went really big.

Overall, CHI got 25 ORebs to 5 for CLE (Drummond got 9 ORebs).  That is a huge disparity.  20 additional possessions.  That is hard to overcome.  Neither team got very many fast break points (8 vs. 7).  Both teams must have really slowed it down.

Wonder how long it will be until he asks for a trade…

There’s some buzz going around that Jalen Green is frustrated with how he’s being used and how he’s not a sixth man. Can you confirm this? — Isaac D. This has become such a divisive topic among Rockets fans and honestly, some of the reactions have been unwarranted. But let’s try to unpack this. Green’s frustrations this season have been clear. I was in the building last Friday for one of Houston’s more impressive home wins of the season over the Phoenix Suns. Green was glued to the bench for the entire fourth quarter. He didn’t look happy. This isn’t the first, second or third time that he’s not been on the floor in critical moments. It probably won’t be the last, either.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Not much hype around the NBA Finals rematch tonight between Denver and Miami. Denver walked away with the win though.

I would imagine there's no way Ime or the Rockets trade him on his rookie deal unless the relationship has totally broken down and unless they're getting a major upgrade. Green isn't KD or Harden or Dame that can throw his weight around. I'm trying to remember the last time a rookie was traded on his rookie deal, I think it was Markelle Fultz? Before that it's been a while, unless it was a draft day trade.

I don't know how the rest of you are feeling, but I have a feeling Embiid has called it on this season and is keeping it unofficial to avoid the depressing effect it would have on him and the team.

I have thought this all along. I do not expect we see him back this season. Philly is going nowhere and if they bring him back he will be gimpy and out of shape (he is always out of shape).

I think he wants to play in the Olympics though so maybe he will be ready for that

My ideal seeding would be:

1. Boston
2. Bucks
3. Cavs
4. Knicks
5. Pacers
6. Orlando
7. Miami
8. Philly and Embiid does not return.

I would like to see the Heat have to go through the Bucks and Cavs before meeting the Celtics in the ECF. I am not sure Miami survives that.

I would say that I am the most worried about MIL still, so having them as #2 means we play them as late as possible, if they get that far (I am assuming the Celtics will win all the early rounds of course).

I am starting to think more about the finals, who comes out of the West.  Various teams have had runs, OKC, MIN, LAC, and now most recently, GSW are coming on.  But I still feel like DEN is the team to be out of the West and the team I would least like to play in the finals.  We are 6 games up on them in the standings right now.  Nice cushion.

How "real" are teams like OKC, MIN, LAC?  Are they real title contenders?  It really could be anyone out of the West.

I think LAC are definitely for real if they have their full team healthy (obviously very far from certain). Their recent mini swoon has been with Paul George and Zubac missed that game against the Lakers also. That being said they are crazy deep so even if someone like Harden has their standard awful playoff game George and Leonard are still there. I don't think OKC is for real and they have started to fall back to earth lately (They couldn't stop the spurs at all last night). They need another big very badly especially against teams like Minnesota or Denver. Minnesota I don't know what to think of. Will the defense be as effective in the playoffs? That is kind of the key.
