Checkmate Trade puts C's over the top

 Brad's not done yet and this trade virtually guarantees us a ring. I have heard rumors we have been talking to the team involved.  I want your opinion on who would you rather keep between Horford or Rob we can make the trade work either way.

 Boston sends out Horford,  Brogdon,  and Prichard plus three or four firsts and three second round picks. Boston acquires.  Pascal Siakim the missing piece.

 PF is this teams hole and Pascal fits the mold perfectly.  He's been durable the last two seasons.  He's 28 years old.  Our team would be filled with players from 26 to 28 years old in their absolute prime.

 Literally an unstoppable team. We also have around 7 million Tpe to find another guard to add to the backcourt.  Thoughts on this.

I think the only way we would do such a deal is if we a) knew Siakam was a high chance of extending, like KP, and b) had some moves in the pipeline to fill out the bench. Whilst the starting lineup rocks, the bench is less good.

Toronto, on the other hand, would have a very interesting group. Not sure how good they'd be, but super deep

This is not an unstoppable team. We would go very a team with an exceptional starting lineup with a pretty strong bench (Brogdon/Horford/Pritchard/Hauser/Kornet) to a team that's 100% top heavy with absolutely no bench at all.  This reminds me of the old Celtics big-3 days when we had Pierce, KG, Ray and Rondo who were all great, but we couldn't get over the line because we had a grand total of $15.25c to fill out our bench with. 

I also dont know that Siakm fits this lineup.  Another big ego and high usage guy to throw in their with Tatum, Brown and Porzingis, and he also has a tendancy to vanish in the playoffs.

Pascal Siakam the missing piece.

He was Toronto's guy, he is overpaid as he is not an alpha.  He might be good as the 3rd option but we have zinger.   

Siakam thinks he is way better than what he is, and takes too many bad shots. He is a poor shooter as a result.  48% from the field and 32% from the three.  He did shoot better when he was not the primary option

This is not an unstoppable team. I agree.  We need a guy who can make shots, play great D, but not high usage.  PJ Washington would be perfect but unattainable.  A young Gordon Hayward would be sweet, but age and injury accumulation makes him more of a decent bench guy today.

I would have been far more interested in Siakam before the Porzingis trade.  Now not so much.  Agree he is a nice player, but we can't afford to give up that much depth for a player we don't really need, and can't afford to pay in the future.

 I would argue we really need a younger Power forward in his prime who avg almost 6apg last year as good as Smart. Can actually switch anything on defense unlike Rob and Old AL.

 He would make are starting five world class.

Pretty sure Boris Diaw retired about 10 years ago.
