What has happened with Patty Mills?

He was signed by Houston but immediately traded (sign and trade?) to Memphis as part of the Dillon Brooks deal. Was this a three team trade with Brooklyn? How did this work?

Patty Mills was under contract this season with Brooklyn.  He was traded to Houston and then re-traded to Memphis.

Okay. Thank you. That makes sense.

Crowder back to Milwaukee on a 1-year deal, and Alex Len is staying in Sacramento for the 1-year minimum.
Crowder is a good keep by Milwaukee. He will help them. They got 3 key bench pieces now in Crowder, Portis and Connaughton. So 8 deep. Today was a good day for Milwaukee. Kept B Lopez in too. So everything kept in place for another title run next year.

I don't understand why Alex Len wants to stay in Sacramento when Trey Lyles was taking his playing time at center. Surely he should try for more PT elsewhere.

Sacramento Kings All-NBA C Domantas Sabonis has agreed to a contract renegotiation and extension for a total of $217M over five years — including $195M in new money, his agents Greg Lawrence and Jason Ranne tell ESPN.

Projected remaining cap space around the NBA:

1 Spurs: $25.4M
2 Jazz: $14.9M
3 Kings: $13.6M*
4 Magic: $11.1M^
5 Pacers: $5.2M

*SAC could still be an over-the-cap team, but I'm projecting space and added Duarte back in. TBD

^Magic could still be operating as over-the-cap. TBD

Kings are off the list now.

After how he played in the playoffs? Why?

Make him prove it next year. Too much money for a guy who no-showed in the playoffs and failed to beat up on a tiny Warriors team that he should, as an offensive orientated 3rd team All-NBA center, destroy.

Hornets should be on it as a maybe.

Yeah, I assume Smith didn't want to speculate about teams that can create room by renouncing players.  Charlotte's got $50 million tied up in the holds of Bridges, Washington and Oubre, including two qualifying offers.

But, actual salaries on the books have them, what, $30 million or so below the cap?

Are they expected to bring bridges back?

They gave him a qualifying offer, so certainly they are open to it.  He’s someone I could see taking it, too.

Rockets forwards

F - Amen Thompson, Cam Whitmore
F - Jabari Smith Jr, Jae'Sean Tate

They don't really need Dillon Brooks. He is only going to take minutes away from their young forwards who need playing time to develop.

I was under the impression that Amen Thompson's future position is PG....  A big PG like Cade Cunningham, after working towards that for a while.  And that his twin brother Ausar Thompson will be a pure SF most likely.

It's still a logjam in Houston, which makes one wonder if Brown could in fact end up there.  I would hope we'd land Amen Thompson (future PG when ready for that role, general wing until that time.  And maybe Brooks and another piece or two both directions...or a pick for the C's depending on who the other piece was...

Interesting. I thought both Thompson twins were an Iguodala type point forward SG/SF player. I figured since their shooting is so bad they would both need to play forward to start out their career.

I wonder why Houston would sign VanVleet if they saw Thompson as a PG. Then again, they signed a SF as well in D Brooks. And have their SG of the future in Jalen Green. Messy. Nothing makes much sense over there.

They got pretty dang close to beating that Warriors team which is a pretty huge turn around in the space of a year.

This will look like a steal in a year or two, because he will age like his dad.

My problem is with the Barnes deal.
