Porzingis is a triple threat.  Inside, outside scoring, and a willing passer from the high post.  2.7 assists from your big is very decent.

Pick and roll/Pick and pop is gonna be deadly with him.  I expect Jaylen/Jayson will get some easy baskets working those type of plays with the Unicorn!

BTW Watch Porzingis block Towns in the low post on his way to a 41 point night!  That's a big boy defensive play!

KP has made some significant passing strides over the last two seasons. Still a long way off the best guys, but if he could get up to the 3-3.5 range that would be excellent. Still struggles a bit passing out of doubles in the post, but on a more talented team those may be less likely.

Having much better shooters/players around him - as well as playing as the third option - should help his assist rate, I would think.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

I agree. He is a unique combination of vertical and lateral spacing too, which will add a new dimension. We have never had a big like that

Keep in mind that the Miami Heat probably don't win those two titles if they didn't have the trio of Lebron, D Wade, and Bosh.  Bosh in particular is probably underrated for their title success.

Early days, let's see how Porzingis fits into our team chemistry wise.  But as for talent combined with size, he's really pretty far up there.  They call him the Unicorn for a reason.

I’m still coming to grips with not seeing Smart in a Celtics uniform but KP is about as good a player as you can get for him.

I’ve been perusing the on/off splits, and data suggests we will be just fine with White tackling the PG role.

How we incorporate KP into the fold remains to be seen (which big he plays alongside), but we truly have a “Big 3” that I don’t believe we’ve had since 2012.

KP is a triple-threat scorer (post, mid-range, downtown) and fully capable defender.

Definitely. This should be the most talented set of teammates he's ever played with.

Porzingis has it all.  Size, athleticism, touch, a little grit or edge, but to date, he has not put it all together.  But even with that, he has a career average of about 20 pts/8 Rebs.  I feel like this is the time that he is most likely to put it all together.  This is the right time, the right team, his peak age, all of it.  If he is ever going to get to the next level, it is now or never.

And even if he stays the same as he has been, he is still an upper tier big.  A potential all-star.  He is not Jokic or Embiid or Giannis, but who else would you put absolutely ahead of him?  Towns?  Davis?  Randle?  Sabonis?  Markkanen?  Zion?  Adebayo?  I think Porzingis is right there with any of those in the second tier and on the Celtics, might be the best of that second tier (Zion being a bit of a wildcard).

I will always be a big Marcus Smart fan but I like this trade and am glad to have Porzingis.

I said this in another thread I think the dynamic is very similar

you have a small forward who is your main option and huge scoring threat and can run the offense as sort of a point forward. (lebron/tatum)

an uber athletic shooting guard who is just an "ok" shooter (Wade/Brown)

then a big who can shoot all the way from the 3 point line, can defend and also score in the post (KP/Bosh)
