Not particularly shocking, but I would love to see him be able to contribute a bit. Not expecting a lot from an injury-prone soon-to-be 35 year-old coming off a 12 month layoff, but who knows
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Gallo’s got a skill set at a position that would help significantly. It’ll be great to have him healthy finally. He also makes a nice trade piece with his expiring salary now that he opted in.

I think it's possible they keep him if no good trades come along, but honestly Muscala on his cheaper deal is probably the better candidate for that role. Yes, Gallinari is a much better offensive player, but he's also 35 and coming off a major injury.

Woj's tweet said the celtics expect him to play a "significant role" in the rotation this season so I don't think he's going anywhere.

I wonder if their plan is to play him in that Grant Williams role. hes taller and can shoot 3's and also is pretty good moving the ball

I'm happy for this.  IMO, he's better than GWill and opens up that for a trade opportunity in a S&T.  Indy appears to be all over RWill right now.

I think it is a win for us, providing he is healthy.  Let Grant walk and sign Naz Reed with the mid level

At this point, only on a vet minimum. Otherwise, no need for Gallo any more. 12 months on injury list with 35 on his back, Muscala can give us more and he's irrelevant too.

His contract has a player option and that’s what he’s getting, not the vet min.  It’s non-negotiable at this point.

why no need? you dont think a healthy Gallinari would've helped us in the playoffs last year?
