I believe he was in talks with Kentucky to join Calipari‘s staff.
IMO Rondo is best suited to being a college coach, rather than the NBA. He’s too stubborn and has too much of an ego to succeed in the NBA, where you need to relinquish some type of control to your players.
I was listening the Jackie McMullen a few years ago (after the Lakers championship, I think) and someone brought this up to her. Her response was a really emphatic, no, he's actually wonderful with younger players and seems to love teaching. A little volatile, yes, but not as much as he was when he was younger and a better communicator now.
