This post fits in with the general non-discussion of the Celtics being one game away from reaching the Finals.

Love the random thread, and yes, always I want Theis back on this team!

To replace Kornet? Sure. That's about it.

Absolutely. This thread needs to be at least 60 pages.

Daniel Theis signing on for a third stint  > D. White's 0.1 second winning put back in Game 6

TP! For bringing this up

Better to talk about it once we get there, no?

I'm willing to continue to discuss the possibilities of who the Celtics might have next season for deep depth at the bigman position tomorrow around 9pm.

I'll bite...Theis is on $9.1m...so we could trade Gallo + Payton which would be $10.8m, or Gallo and Muscala. Or we could trade Timelord. Or Al. Basically the pieces to make a deal would be:

Timelord $11.5m
Al $10m
Gallo $6.8m
Payton $4m
Muscala $3.5m
Kornet $2.4m
Champagnie $1.9m

Which of those would Indiana find attractive?

No way I would trade Gallo. He is an offensive machine with some size. When healthy he iss better than Theis himself and I always loved Theis until playoffs when he was a let down.

Yeah, there may be a deal there...

Obv not Gallo oriented, but maybe Payton

I'd love Theis here.  Of course, I'd fill out the bench with KO, IT, Antoine and Larry Bird if it was up to me, so...

Always liked Theis. Especially his pick-and-roll defense. Very good positioning and great competitor.
However during that last playoff run it seemed like Theis was done.
I don't think he can contribute much more. Next year our back-up center should be Horford.
And for a 3rd string big Theis makes too much money, in particular if the Celtics try to duck under the luxury tax.

No. He played 7 total games this year, he doesn't give you more than Kornet or Muscala at this point.

I liked Theis. Fun to root for.

But he would have been BBQ chicken if he got any minutes against Miami again lol. Remember the 2020 bubble and what Bam was doing to Kanter/Theis?
