If Celts pull one out here, Wyc and Brad will use this game to rationalize keeping 2nd-Row-Joe, saving face, hurt feelings and most important to ownership, saving money.
That’s my fear too. The only thing that changed tonight is the 3 ball variance.
Well, that and the defensive intensity. But they appear to be a package deal, unfortunately.
But the formula is there. Play the aggressive D, get stops, and get out in transition. Don't let them set up their defense. That's what's going to ultimately be best for your offense. That and mixing in more inside out threes and less early threes off of perimeter passes.
It’s such a simple thing that we do the complete opposite of. We are borderline obsessed with setting up our offence slowly, allowing their defence to get settled.
Compare that with the Nuggets. Off of every miss, Jokic is going full pelt for the rebound because he knows he can zip outlet passes to a teammate to attack before the opposition sets up. Even on scores, Jokic will try to inbound quickly or will do some trickery with Murray (their little back-and-forth passing up the court) to keep the defence guessing. We should try some of that speed
