it is completely possible that we are as soft as toilet paper, AND our coach is WAY over his head.

Smart/ JB/ JT are experienced enough NOT to play like little boys.  I am embarrassed for our team and our fans.
Pathetic, entitled, loser mentality 2nd half performance.

I am all for firing Joe after the season, title or not.  But JT/JB have GOT to be better in close games.

I like PP a lot, but there's no reason to play him in place of GWill.  PP did absolutely nothing in 12 minutes.

I have to say, I'm so sick of everyone here blaming the head coach. It's like you haven't watched this team for like the past 5 years or so. The players get full of themselves, and can't be bothered to get up for inferior opponents. It's the teams 3rd different head coach in 3 years and nothings changed.
Maybe if the coach wasn't of significant detriment to our chances of winning, he would be treated with the kid gloves you desire.

And, given his lack of play for months, there's no reason to expect his shot to be in rhythm

I know a lot you don’t want to give Miami any credit tonight but they played great. They answered every run the C’s had. They won’t be happy just winning 1 either. C’s better respond on Friday.

I will say, is it sustainable for the Heat to hit 3's at a 60% clip every game? Probably not.

The Celtics play with panic way too much of the time. The Heat do not. The Heat aren't even a good team. I mean that literally. They are a .500 level team based on talent. But they don't lose their heads, they find the seams in the defense, they make shots. Because they don't panic. They are like dispassionate robots, and the Celtics are like frightened children.
Third quarter when things were starting to slip away this was apparent .

It might take medication to fix. I'm not even joking. You know Riley's teams indulged in the nose candy back in the day for focus. Nowadays there are similar legal drugs one can use with a simple prescription. You think Butler isn't ripped on some stimulant?

We need some pep in our step.

I won’t be surprised if Joe says we need to shoot more threes as that’s where Miami beat us. I also have a feeling this double big line up is gonna be shelved with DW starting in game 2.

Zero mental discipline and the worst coach in the league.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

My friends, the Heat shot 52% from 3 tonight. They were collectively unconscious. Sometimes the other team deserves to win.

10 TOs between the Jays is simply unacceptable.

In particular, Brown with just an awful overall game, much worse than the box score suggests.

Head coach needs to make sure game is run through their one true superstar. Apparently five shots by Tatum through almost entire half half is not a big deal.

I am over the Brown/ Tatum experiment. Get a true PG thst can do what Smart did in first half for entire game and who will make sure Tatum has ball more then five times when we are blowing a big  lead and getting smoked at home in key game.

Guarantee you they win the next 2 out of 3 to make it 2-2, then lose Game 5 at home like last round

This team is a frontrunnery team that plays well only when backs are against the wall. Allergic to prosperity

That’s how it is after every loss. Regardless of what actually happens on the court. I will say that the Pritchard minutes were puzzling, but the main reason the C’s lost was their lack of defensive intensity. Miami just played harder. Heat also shot nearly 52% from 3pt which didn’t help matters.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I will agree.  Butler was awesome.  They hit timely shots just to break our spirit.  But we need to be better than we played tonight.  5 Eastern Conf Finals appearances by these guys.  They aren't 2nd / 3rd year players anymore.  JT/JB especially need to rise to the challenge.
