Man, only up 3 after JT puts in 25 points in a half.  It's hard to feel good about that.

True, but WHite and Brogdon with zero, and the three non-Jays starters with 11. Plenty of other room for others to pick it up.

If Grant were in he'd be picking up these fouls, not guys who are going to help determine the result at the end.

Lat Blake guard him in those situations

For real. Multiple other options to play the exact same type of smaller-defender defense with a charge threat. Just makes absolutely zero sense.

Given we've gotten 3 points from Smart, White & Brogdon combined, I think it's alright

Fair point.  We got absolutely nothing from Brogdon and White.  Smart has made some contributions, but he already has 2 TO's.

Well, the Smart experiment kinda worked. 6.5/10

And wait a minute - Al only has two fouls. Why was he out in the first place creating the need for Smart to guard Embiid? Just mind-boggling decisions.

Yeah, we need our guards to step up. That's supposed to be a strength for us.

I would use Grant for this stretch.
This is the Joe factor inserting itself.

Just completely incompetent. Doesn't like GWill for whatever reason, so we're using someone nearly a foot smaller to guard him. Just insanely incompetnet

GWill gives you the exact same kind of defense only with more wieght and strength behind it. Just mind-boggling.
This is his kind of game too.

same here

Because Smart was assessed a flop and he fouled him with a trip by virtue of the flop??? Only thing I can think of...

Easy call, he didnt allow embiid to land, same if he took a 3pter and got underneath

We're lucky they didn't call it a landing spot flagrant foul.

Hoping the refs decide to help us out in the 2nd half now. They certainly allowed PHI to do a lot

Maybe they will even out the calls for the Celtics in the 2nd half.

+1.  Either that was a flop or it was a foul.  Refs call ONE OF THEM please.
you can't let Embiid just step on Smart and then call the foul on Smart!  that is nonsense
