Notice how when Tatum got going with the 4 threes in the 4th Dorris Burke was silent. She spent the entire game 4 and 6 as a Sixers cheerleader.

There's still a chance we have her Sunday sadly if it's on ABC

My guess is that ABC will trot out Breen/Van Gundy/Jackson for any Game 7.

Oh right, I also forgot the night game is on TNT not ESPN

We shouldn't have to worry about Doris again until next season.

Also, TNT will be carrying the Eastern Conference Finals this season.

Not that I’ve watched every superstar play every game in the history of the league, but I can’t remember a first team all nba level guy (who’s know as a scorer) have so many complete disappearing acts -  escoecially in crucial games.

He’s also had a bunch of huge games too.

I want to love Tatum like I loved Bird.  I really do.  He could be that guy.  But man the disappearing acts are so tough.
You don't need to look very hard.

https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/b/bryanko01/gamelog-playoffs/

Filtering by ascending game score reveals plenty of genuinely terrible games. Kobe is a very natural comparison for me.

I guess there's stuff that doesn't show up in the box score too.  In this regard, I'd buy Durant more than Kobe, for disappearing.

And don't get me wrong.  I love Tatum as a Celtic.  I just want to love him more.

Only way to get there is to get a ring I guess.

When other superstars fail, we don’t notice as much, we don’t remember as much and we certainly don’t care as much. But I guarantee the fans of those teams notice, remember and care when their superstars fail. You just have to visit other fan forums to see how frustrated fans are with their players, even when they play well. We are hard graders as fans. The grass is always greener on the other side and their superstars are better than ours syndrome  :police:
Can you imagine if Ayton was a Celtic?  These boards would melt down.

In the Philly forums they are convinced Doris loves Tatum and the C's. Hahaha

Don’t be surprised if Doc takes PJ out of the starting lineup and replaces him with Niang or Melton to provide more shooting to counter Timelord’s defensive presence. That obviously loses some defense and rebounding for them, but we need to be prepared for that possibility.
bring it!!!! As long as Rob is on the court I'm feeling good about our chances no matter who the Sixers play

Which is funny because Twitter is having a field day about her fawning over Embiid and her silence when Tatum starting going off last night.

Was I the only person a little concerned hearing the locker room celebration when Robert Williams was being interviewed? It almost sounded like they won the title. It was a big win, but they only forced a game 7.

Speaking of which, Marcus, Jaylen, and Jayson gave some bizarre post-game interviews. Marcus completely disrespected the head coach. Jaylen calling out the Boston home crowd. And Jayson recognizing himself as being one of the best players in the world. They can't take criticism and it's always everyone else's fault if the team doesn't succeed.

I didn't see the Smart comment, only read it so don't know how it was presented.  The Brown interview I saw the video and it doesn't seem as harsh as it does in print.

The Tatum comment?  Whatever.  Out of 8 Billion people in this world there are around 450 NBA players.  The 450th best player in that group is one of the best players in the world.

I get what you're saying, but all of that tells me that at least they have some serious passion.

The next step for their development is being able to put that exuberance and emotion aside and focus completely on the next game.

The Sixers are going to be angry.  They might be coming out fast and physical. We need to be prepared and match that intensity.

She’s in the New England Basketball hall of fame, isn’t she? I think Doris, like most of us, just has ‘a type’ of player she really enjoys rooting for - I seem to remember her really enjoying Steve Nash?

Game 5:  Started 0-for-6; 3-for-13 in first half
Game 6:  0-for-10 in first half

I don't think I've seen anything like that.  Three straight playoff games starting with terrible shooting.  He hasn't made a first quarter shot in three games.

I’m sticking to my theory of point shaving. The mob has Deuce and this is the way to get him back.

Jordan had a similar start to the ECF against the Knicks in 93. Not quite the same insofar as scoreless opening quarters game after game, but in the first three games he went 10/27, 12/32 and 3/18. They weirdly won the game he went 3-18 because Pippen lit it up.

Kobe had multiple stretches of 3 games shooting well under 40% from the field (04 & 08 Finals spring to mind).

The uniqueness is in the brutally cold open, but there is form of other superstars having brutal stretches in playoffs

One thing lost a big in all the excitement of game 6, nobody on the floor looked happier that Tatum took over the game and lead them to victory than Jaylen Brown.
