Forsberg is in a rage in the postgame. Scal is predictably making excuses for the Celtics. Forsberg is Rob's #1 fan. Not surprised he is ticked.

Not winning anything with this defense and soft mentality

Even players said they relaxed when embiid was scratched

if they give the sixers +10.5 again i am taking that spread

Easy money

Joe Mazzulla: “I’ve gotta be better at play calling and getting us into our spacing quicker.” He also thought the Celtics passed down some open looks late.

Mazzulla: “I don’t think 26 (3-point attempts) is a recipe of success for our team.”

Like, I've got to be in the Twilight zone. After what we just witnessed with us having our way offensively and shooting nearly 60% from the floor in a playoff game, your main takeaways are focused on the offense and us shooting more threes, and not on the atrocious defensive game plan that let them score at will? Joe does realize that 60% shooting with most shots at the rim is good, right? And that you can win such a game without jacking 40+ threes when you just adjust your non-sensical, porous defensive scheme, right?

I'm sorry, but this guy is an absolute joke. No objective observer can really argue that at this point. Look at the evidence. What rational person comes away thinking this after that game?
Completely idiotic.  The Celts shot 69% on 2-point shots and I assume that most if not all of the free throws came off of 2-point shots.  So the success rate on 2-point shots must have been around 75% which trumps shooting 38% from 3.

Inflexibility and dogmatic. Terrible attributes for a coach. Means little to no adjustments and forcing a square peg into a round hole.

When the lane is that open and the rim that unprotected, it makes absolutely no sense to not attack it and get the much higher percentage looks at the basket.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Scal said it would be a failure if they didn’t win a title this year. So which is it?

Yeah easy money. This team cannot blow teams out. Not even with a Murray-less Hawks or an Embiid-less 76ers. Game 2 will be another close game, down to the wire.

The fact that Joe can’t see that we just got done with a series that the Hawks actively searched out Al switching on to a guard and turned Trae into the second coming is mind boggling to me.  Not only does he leave Al in the game but he also doesn’t ask the players to make any effort to not switch is criminal.  Who was he concerned about rolling to the hole after the pick from the Sixers.  Reed?  Smarten up Joe.

And, while I understand how much JT and JB bring to the table, these guys are not closers (especially JB who is awful in late game situations).

Jayson Tatum said on the last play out of the timeout that he thought Smart was trying to shoot it, but he was trying to pass it.

"Tough play."

Are you kidding me??? No wonder our ATO plays are typically bad. Even the guys on the court aren’t in sync about things.

Mazzulla may literally be the Joe Judge/Matt Patricia of our team lol. Ugh

In the postgame interviews the Celtics don't seem particularly angry. I find that incredible.

in addition to the defensive woes, this team fails on offense in crunch time. against atlanta and again tonight in the 4Q, teams key on tatum, which becomes very effective because 1) tatum brings the ball up the court, and 2) we inexplicably take the air out of the ball and run the shot clock down, leading to poor shots.

in response, marcus has found something recently that should be the c’s go-to crunch time offensive strategy. when tatum brings the ball up the floor (which i don’t agree with, but it is what it is), marcus has recently moved to the high post, which opens up the offense and makes the opposing team pay for doubling tatum above the timeline. marcus excels in the paint: he can beat most opposing guards to the rim, he finishes well, and he finds rob underneath or a slashing wing for an easy assist. this has worked the past several games but joe doesn’t implement it consistently, and the J’s seem to relish the opportunity to be the man, instead of playing winning team ball. frustrating proof of this team’s immaturity, lack of BBIQ, and leadership.

This team should be majorly PO'd at themselves.  I get the balanced approach in the regular season.  Gotta move on to the next game.  But in the playoffs it is about adjustments, execution, and effort.  We need to look in the mirror a  bit more and take responsibility - both coaches and players,  AND the team needs to make adjustments before the next game.

That's pretty good analysis. But this team is stuck in that mentality of the star needing to go ISO. It's like we're trying to prove that Tatum is a superstar instead of trying to win the game with good team play

You guys notice how the ball always seems to find Marcus late in the shot clock in crunch time. It’s like nobody wants to take the big shot.

The shot clock violation prime example. Just over passing
