So, 13% of our Forum believes the Sixers win. I can't believe that two people actually think the Sixers win in 5 games. What am I missing?
Celtics fans tend to be a pretty negative group. I get being nervous and that the regular season doesn't portend the playoffs. And on paper the sixers are alot better than Atlanta. But matchups matter sometimes more than the better team
I still think those regular season games show something. I mean when you beat a team over and over and over it does show a trend.
For me also, I look at that loss to PHI late in the season as "whatever". Embiid put up 52. Tatum played poorly. Brown and Timelord were out. Kornet played 15 minutes (lol). And PHI still nearly threw it away in the final seconds, and only held on to win by 2 at home. And then earlier in the season, we missed 3 starters (including our two centers), Brown left at halftime with the face injury, and we still beat them.
PHI will definitely take a game this series, possibly 2. I'd genuinely be stunned if they took more than two though. Oddly enough I think in this series, a close game in the 4th probably benefits us more than them. In the first round, BKN was clearly young and inexperienced in those moments and the Sixers took advantage. We aren't.
I just think the Sixers need A LOT to go right just to be able to keep up against the C's. Idk if they can do that for 3-4 games this series though. Embiid puts up monster numbers against us usually anyways and the Sixers usually still lose, sometimes by double digits
