any comparisons to the warriors to defend the C’s are ludicrous. the current golden state core has four rings and went to the finals six times in eight years. curry, draymond and klay are nearing the end of their championship window with the hardware to secure their place in history.

tatum, brown, and smart haven’t accomplished anything noteworthy, and no one outside of the C’s fanbase will remember who golden state defeated in last year’s finals.

The sun'll come out tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow
There'll be sun
Just thinkin' about tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow
'Til there's none
When I'm stuck with a day that's grey and lonely
I just stick up my chin and grin and say, oh
The sun'll come out tomorrow
So you gotta hang on 'til tomorrow
Come what may…

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Easy to overreact right now. I get it.

But we outplayed them for about 44 minutes and just let this one get away. Between the two terrible passes that were easily picked off, to the Tatum technical, to Smart’s foul, so many things went wrong at the end.

I rather they not lose games like this. But if they are going to, I want it to be in the first round when up 3-1. Last season was a learning experience. Tonight was a refresher. When their opposition plays with desperation, we have to match their intensity.

GEnvy, I don't know how you do it man. There is just no excuse to losing a close-out game, at your own home floor, without their best player playing. And I think we've seen all 82 games this season of what they are. It's all mental. We keep saying last year learning experience, what of the previous years? Chucking 3's. Tatum ISOs. Smart dumb turnovers. MISSED FREE-THROWS. Flashy passes that become T/O's. This is new now- illegal screens. Come on!

If the Jays don't bring us banner 18 I won't even put them in the same conversation with other Celtics great players.

This is true, but since post hoc conclusions are essentially the board’s main purpose, it’s also largely irrelevant. If the C’s wind up winning a title does it validate their style of play and prove the complainers wrong?

I think we win next game, but this last game was beyond disappointing.

For all Tatum idolizing Kobe, he has the killer instinct of a dead fish....

No it's not. Celtics were up big and choked the game away. Simple as that. They'll come out next game with intensity and finish the hawks.

What's frustrating is Tatum admitted yesterday they let series get too long because they thought they could just win and learned from that. Apparently they didn't.

Now Embiid gets more rest

I’d try focusing on Trae young and not how much rest Joel Embiid is getting. Who cares.

Also, the Celtics were never “up big” or in control of that game. Hawks had an answer and were competitive at every turn…nice try though

Hopefully they win game 6 but I have already prepared myself for game 7 on Saturday.

Not really. Celtics hovered between 10-13 points up most of the game until the end. While the hawks kept themselves in it the Celtics answered shot for shot.

Last night was really frustrating. But let's not create false narratives.

The issue is that this team has a sense of arrogance that they are just better than the other team and can turn it on when they have to. So when they get up they take their foot off the pedal, play slow and jack up poor shots.

They were on the verge of going up big several times and simply couldn’t do it because the hawks were too competitive…not a false narrative
