I told my parents that the C's lost (sadly) and they don't seem surprised. They think it's all about ratings/revenue and they want a few more games probably, especially since PHI swept their series. I won't lie, this stuff does cross my mind a bit especially with how prominent gambling has become nowadays. "What does the league want", "do they benefit with another game", etc.

Denver and phoenix had no problem closing series out in 5 last night though?

I have no expectations with this bunch. I had a serious headache yesterday after that game.

Marcus Bonehead Smart and outclassed ,out coached Joe found a way to loose with Tatums help.

are we stuck with a clown empty suit coach like lebron had in cleveland? whats his face?

David Blatt? Tyronn Lue? Bahahhaha

LUE! that is him! lebron and kyrie carried that clown. and maybe love? problem is we do not have a lebron to carry this team like LUE had to win INSPITE OF BAD COACHING.

That was such a bad decision.  Just play good defense.  No need to gamble like that.

The foul on Tatum that led to his tech was bogus but he's got to keep his composure in these situations.

i was hollering at the TV just defend the ball either pass or a shot..going for that steal and getting a reach foul was uncalled for. trying to be a hero and it backfired

Even after a night's sleep, I'm still super peeved about last night. Just a complete & utter breakdown in the 4th quarter.  Most of my ire is directed at Tatum & Smart.  Total lack of composure and some awful decision making.  This game was in the bag and now we're getting an unnecessary Game 6 and giving Embiid more time to recover.

And to add insult to injury, I'm flying to Mass tomm to visit family.  I was planning on going to Game 1 on Sat and last night screwed that all up.  I sure as heck don't want a Game 7 on Sat instead.

What a cluster and blown golden opportunity.

Was I the only person surprised that Jaylen gave Trae Young so much room for the game winner? I feel like Trae took that exact same shot like 3 or 4 times in the 4th quarter. He's obviously comfortable taking that shot, so why give it to him. I know Young is quick, but force him to put the ball on the floor and possibly pass it.

Any chance Marcus Smart bumped into a ref after the game and is suspended for game 6? Maybe just wishful thinking on my part

At the time I was upset about it.  Now... I understand what the stats would say, even if I don't necessarily agree.

We were bringing Smart up to double him.  Kid just launched from 30 before Smart got there.  Still, statistically that's not a bad shot for the defense to give up.  The alternatives are either A) doubling harder and earlier, forcing the ball out of Young's hands and living with whatever the 3-on-4 situation surrenders as a result; or B) Brown playing tighter, taking away the three but likely either fouling or giving up a drive into an open paint.  Given how hot Trae was at this point, I'd have preferred option A.  But the stats would probably say that we played that fine and a great bad shot beat us.

It's tough.  This new breed of guards who are a threat to fire as soon as they cross halfcourt really change a lot of what we think we know about defense.

It wasn’t horrible defense per se and the guy is taking a 30 ft shot with a hand in his face. I think you take those odds most of the time.
He probably only hits that shot 2 or 3 times out of 10. Tip your hat for being clutch.

It's fine having Brogdon come off the bench, but I don't get why Smart HAS to be out there to finish games ahead of both White and Brogdon. Brogdon isn't just a better player but he's a calming presence and can potentially lead the group as well at times. We could have used that in the final minutes. But nope, he goes to the bench with 7:22 left and never returns while Smart clearly HAS to be out there   ::)

Especially since Smart was repeatedly making defensive mistakes down the stretch, which is theoretically his main advantage over Brogdon.  I don't get it either.
