Funny enough, it took a Trae young logo three with 2 seconds left to beat us. Sad that that shot was the difference maker

Once again smart leads the implosion. An idiotic foul at half court

Where was Malcom in the 4th?? We had 2 put Smart back in? Promptly turns it over twice and make an absolutely stupid foul — you don’t even put yourself in that position. Malcom wouldn’t have done that

I've just about had it with the notion that Smart needs to be our "3rd guy" and someone who starts due to his "hustle/winning plays".  White and Brogdon are better, period. Smart has made so many dumb plays this season too and now he probably cost us a playoff game as well

Series is going 7 games

Nah. This is over next game. Atlanta played desperate tonight and Trae had himself a great offensive game. Tip your cap and move onto the next one.

Posters love to talk about this team's mentality, but the its the fans.

I'm beside myself right now. Horrendous loss.

Smart blew that game and gave ATL a chance. Trae took it. No one else took it back.

They gotta win games like this. Philly gets two more days of rest now.

Who cares about Philly and the rest they get? Not a believer in Philly but I have 0 faith in this average, choking dog Celtics team that they will even win this hawks series at this point never mind win a 2nd round

Lose by 2 with JB missing at least two free throws in the fourth and JT getting a late stupid T.

And don't get me started on incompetent Joe. He sat there and watched us give up the entire lead making no adjustments or calling any timeouts until 9 seconds left in the freaking game. How people seriously think he can lead us to a championship is beyond me. He needs to go back to D3 coaching. What a joke.

This loss wasn't on JB.  He gave us 35 7 and 5.  NO way it is on JB.

Smart completely cratered the team when he came back in.  I have never seen anything like it.

He did his part and carried us offensively, but yes when you miss two crucial free throws in the fourth quarter and we lose by two - you absolutely played a part in this loss. Unacceptable for him to be missing so  many free throws.

I'll give ATL credit. They have been fighting every game and even today with Murray, they showed up and didn't quit. Wish the C's had this same heart and killer instinct to go along with the talent

I will tip the hat to Atlanta as well.  For as much as we screwed ourselves over in this game, the Hawks had to hit shots over and over again and they did.
Just painful to watch that slow-mo-car-crash ending

Why not play Trae tighter? He basically just walked into an open three.

Trae is so fast and there is so much open room behind the defender. That is a tough situation.

Even tougher for a wing player like Jaylen who is slower and not able to pressure the ball on a speedy PG like Trae Young in today's environment where any slight contact is a foul.

throw a trap at him as he crosses half-court. DO SOMETHING !!!!!!
Bingo - get the ball out of his hands and let someone else beat you.

They were trapping him most of the game which is why Atlanta shot so well from 3. He shot poorly but hit some clutch ones in the last 6 min. I think we just had some self inflicted errors where we stopped playing and started trying to kill the game and run down the clock.

Boston hasn’t been able to guard small guards all season. Mitchell, quickly and now young

the game COMPLETELY changed when Tatum and Smart came back in that last time.
Those two weren't really ready to play and had two horrible TO's right when they came back in.
Then Smart got the T and the snowball was getting huge and heading right for us at that point.
Smart blew this game 100%.  Those two turnovers, the Tech, the bad foul that gave TY the two fts.
Man what a fiasco.  Gonna be some yelling in that locker room.

Tatum got the T, not Smart.

Why did we go to Jasen "airball" Tatum? Should have gone to Jaylen. But Joe don't have the balls.

Huh? We had no timeouts and there's only 5 seconds to inbound the ball. The Hawks broke up the original play by knocking it out of bounds. Kudos to them. At that point, gotta get it in to whoever can get open and that's what happened.

Malcolm did a little mano-a-mano with Bogdon that he lost. That's when he got yanked.

Tatum's passivity lost this game. As special as he can possibly be, he also leads the entire team into passivity out there for long stretches of the game.

Smart's stupidity also lost the game.

If Celts don't make it out of the East, it is time for Brad to shake things up.

Everyone talks about trading Brown, maybe we ought to be looking at the other J.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

All of the blather about “we’re hungry” and “we know what it takes now” was just wind.  This team didn’t learn a thing from last season.

Hard to see them as favorites for anything, even with Milwaukee on the ropes.  They don’t guard well enough.  Tatum is inefficient against intense defense.  Smart has no composure.  They don’t execute late in the game.

Either WAKE UP or just go home.  Because this ain’t it.
