This is just something I wanted to write down.

Essentially, if I was omnipotent & how I would restructure the NBA.

———

Some notes if you're curious;

- American Conference; named after the American Basketball Association (1976 merger).

- National Conference; named after the National Basketball League (1949 merger).

- Kansas City Steers was a basketball team from 1961.

- Memphis Kings because of Memphis' connection to Elvis & wrestling (Jerry 'The King' Lawler).

- Montreal Alouettes because 'Alouette' is a symbol of the Quebecers.

- Toronto Huskies was an 'NBA' team from 1946.

- Utah Raptors because of the dinosaur Utahraptor (meaning "Utah's predator").

- Washington Capitols was an 'NBA' team from 1946.

Toronto weren't allowed be the Huskies again because the logo was too similar to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Marketing.

With three Canadian teams, fewer playoff teams and games and a 68 game regular season, you're going to lose a lot of revenue, I think.

And where'd Sacramento go?  Cold.

If I was omnipotent, restructuring the NBA would be one of the last things I concerned myself with.
