Norman Powell with 40, Russell Westbrook with 30. And they came close to beating the fully loaded Suns.

Kawhi and PG-13 needs to come back next game

I'm pretty sure George is expected to miss this entire round. They said that even before Game 1

But idk if things or circumstances have changed since?

George is out for the series.  It would be unwise to think he'd be ready for Game 1 of Round 2, should they make it that far.

Clippers are done without Kawhi...
Once again another dissapointing moment for the Clipps who just couldnt get over that hump..if Kawhi is not goin to recover from his knee sprain and already without PG...the Suns will do a quick work of them from this point.

What is it with the Clippers? When Paul and Griffin were running the show the same thing that always one of them got injured. Paul/Griffin/Jordan as a core was a contender on paper as well as George/Leonard, but neither team has had much playoff-success.

They remind me of the Celtics with all those snakebitten injuries esp late into the season.

Just imagine if the Celtics had traded Brown for either George or Leonard. We might have #18 already, but maybe not, and it’d probably be the only one that trade bought us. Now these Celtics have not won anything yet, but at least they have potential. The Clippers only have Hopes & Prayers.

Trading for KG and Ray got us one championship.  Toronto got 1 championship trading for Kawhi.  Lakers signing Lebron and trading for AD got them 1 championship.  Those are success stories.  The Nets got nothing from trading for KG and Pierce.  They got nothing but headaches from signing KD and Kyrie and trading for Harden.  Building via the draft may be a crapshoot but trades and free agency is worse.

I would have been down for a Kawhi Leonard trade back when he went to TOR.  At the time though, it was pretty clear it was likely going to be a one and done rental, just a stop on his way to LA.  The hope was you win a championship and change his mind.  TOR won the championship but he still left.

That ship sailed some time ago though.  It has been clear for several years that he is not going to hold up physically enough to lead a team to a championship.  It is too bad.  You can see he still has the game, the shooting touch.

Paul George was never quite in the same tier as Kawhi in my mind, and then he had his gruesome injury.  He has been a warrior, he is a good player.  But he was never going to carry the Celtics to a championship.

If the Sixers had a decent backup center, Toronto doesn't win that championship.  It made sense for Toronto since the trade didn't compromise their future.  I don't recall what the Celts were offering for Kawhi.  PG wouldn't have carried us to a championship and neither would AD have.

All the West series are great so far. Even DEN-MIN has some juice IMO even if Denver wins in 5.

In the East though, there's only really one series that has hype (Cavs-Knicks). The others feel like easy 4-5 game series, maybe one going 6 games? (MIL-MIA)

Was this not the way the season went? The East only had two (maybe three) legit strong teams. The West didn't have any teams as strong as Milwaukee or Boston, but it had a bunch of teams around the level of Philly (Denver, Phoenix, LAC, Sacramento, maybe Memphis too) and a few teams just below that.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

It makes me happy. Less stress (touch wood) for us, whilst getting entertaining battles out West

The Cavs held to 32 points in the half in a modern NBA playoff game is impressive.

Everything about that series screams 7 games

Lot of back and forth. Both teams pretty evenly matched

Anyone think the Knicks may have a chance against the Bucks?
