I’m hoping James Nnaji will be available as a draft-and-stash when we pick.  The Athletic has him at 35 in their top 100 that they released today.  Edey was at 47.

He is athletic but I'm not sure about his skill level...

It’s why I want him as a draft-and-stash.  He doesn’t turn 19 until mid-August.

He has a lot to work on. I guess I would prefer a high level role player at that spot. A 4 year guy like Hauser. Not the same as Hauser but a guy who knows how to play and can fill a role off our bench next year.

That’s someone you get as a 2-way undrafted player, not use a pick that’s likely to be in the 30s.  We should go for ceiling — we got this pick for Bane, after all!

Not a big but I'm hoping the Cs grab Reese Beekman from UVA. He has a lot of Derrick White in his game.  A great defender, not amazing counting stats but just contributes to winning when he's on the court.

James Nnaji is a really intriguing draft & stash option. Similar to Begarin in terms of raw athletic potential (obviously, as a big man rather than a wing).

There are a few older guys I'd look at with the 2nd of our #2s. Adam Flagler, Adama Sanogo, Keyontae Johnson (who I am thrilled got cleared by doctors), to name a few
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

We need a third option on offense. Zach would give us that. Unstoppable in the half court. Hes more like Yao ming than u think.  Stronger than Yao, not the shooter though.

You can't move this kid. Hes 20! Zack,  Horford,  Tatum,  Brown, and any PG we have and it will be raining wide open threes.

Nobody can handle this 285 pound kid one on one. Its such an easy decision for a team that lacks any post game, and a team that desperately needs another big.

Zach looks like the next Pavel Podkolzin.  He looks like he's a fraction of what Boban is... and Boban doesn't play.

I was wrong. He started playing basketball five years ago. Now hes 20 avg 22ppg and 12 rpg 2.5bpg.

I see a raw talent thats only getting better. If he started playing basketball 10 years ago. Hed be a lottery pick.

The 2023 free agent pool doesn’t look good:

Centers

LaMarcus Aldridge (37)
Tony Bradley (24)
Vernon Carey Jr. (21)
Willie Cauley-Stein (29)
DeMarcus Cousins (32)
Ed Davis (33)
Derrick Favors (31)
Enes Freedom (30)
Tristan Thompson (31)
Killian Tillie (25)
Hassan Whiteside (33)

And Power forward isn’t any better:

Carmelo Anthony (38)
Marquese Chriss (25)
Gary Clark (28)
Tyler Cook (25)
Michael Foster Jr. (19)
Juancho Hernangomez (27)
Serge Ibaka (33)
Paul Millsap (37)
Juwan Morgan (25)
KZ Okapala (23)
Jabari Parker (27)
Reggie Perry (22)
Isaiah Roby (24)
Luka Samanic (22)
Chris Silva (26)
Noah Vonleh (27)
D.J. Wilson (26)

A few are retreads we already kicked to the curb. Luka Samanic, might be the best option and I’m one who thinks we should sign him before someone else does. Vernon Carey is pretty much the only other player on those lists I would want in Green.

On the draft side of things, Lively coming out of Duke would be a great fit supporting or replacing Rob. No chance of getting him though. Nfaly Dante fits that description too, but he’s really raw on offense and he’s still learning how to play so there’s upside and he should be available for a 2nd round pick. He plays behind Ware who’s a likely lottery pick. The trouble is he’s not going to step in and help right away. Vukcevic and Dickinson have the experience, but Dickinson is probably close to his ceiling and a throwback like Edey. We should have rolled the dice on Poeltl if that’s what we need from the center position.

Most if not all these guys have been available this entire year. Pretty depressing list.

agreed. vomitted a little in my mouth seeing that list and realizing there's no really decent options available.  have to admit I thought Cousins, Davis and Favors were all older than they are.  Can't understand how they've declined so much at a relatively young age.
