Mitchell Robinson killing us on the offensive boards and Tatum going 6-17 from three were two big factors that killed us tonight.
6-17 is 35.3%.  How did that kill them?  Celts led the offensive boards 17-11.

I’m still not sure why White was basically on the bench for 25 straight minutes until Smart fouled out. He’s been out 3rd best player on a consistent basis

Mitchell's boards in OT hurt us big time. We had several defensive stops and those second chance points were the difference.

A lot of Tatum's missed threes came late too. He should have just attacked the basket and gotten to the line. His legs were too tired to rely on threes.

It's not just a numbers game, it's making the right plays in the right situations too.

maybe it really is time for a change at PG?  I am not sure.  Smart gives us the intangibles, but I agree White has been better as of late.

There's no way Smart gets taken out of the starting lineup at this point in the season. Especially not by a rookie 34 year old head coach. Still, White needs to play in crunch time

Feels like this C's team kinda remind me of the 2011 C's. We were dominating in the first half of that season and hanging onto the 1-seed and eventually fell to the 3-seed. The result was the C's swept the Knicks but lose to Miami in the playoffs

The problem is that Smart is the only who consistently plays hard-nosed D, especially tonight.

Since the break, Smart's offense definitely has left a lot to be desired, particularly not assisting others and setting up easy looks like he was. So it's become an offense/defense thing with him vs White.

Joe should've done more offense/defense switches with White and Smart/Grant on the dead balls, or even just went small.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Smart is just the biggest enigma.  He plays stellar def that helps our mini comeback, he misses a bunch of threes, but when the chips are down he nailed two huge 3s.  I would worry that you alienate JB and JT if you don't play Smart at crunch time.  Can we play Smart, Dwhite (or Brog) JB, JT, and Al as a closing lineup?  super small and we got killed on the off glass a bit tonight.

November 22 was Smart's best month this season when he shot 48.8% overall on 9.2 attempt per game, 43.8% 3pt on 4.6 attempt per game, and 8.2 ast. That month, not surprisingly, is when the Cs were playing their best.

Since then his shot attempts has increased to around 10 pergame, but his shooting pctg is down to around 40%. His ast is now down to 3.5 and 5.0 in Feb and March (7 games).

I always feel that Smart is at his best when he locks in defensively, being an orchestrator on offense, and not taking many shots.  Shooting is not his forte and he should not focus on  it.

Well deserved loss. For some reason they are back to that horrid defense where they pre-switch or switch too early. Way too many times where Grant or Muscala were matched up on Quickley for some reason in the half court and got completely burnt. It almost looked like Smart was shying away from playing him 1 on 1 the way he would switch without a screen and force Grant to pick up the fastest guy on the court. Just not intelligent defense of late. Can we go back to being a defensive juggernaut please
everyone got so sensitive after 9-11... thanks alot bin laden

Crappy Coach, leading a crappy shooting team to Nowhere with NO Defense.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

the 59 3s taken by the C's was the 12th most ever by a team in the nba in one game.

Joe should be happy, we won the stat of which team can jack up more 3's.  unfortunately for us, that didn't win us the game.
Time to adjust that strategy Joe.

Grant playing that many minutes is inexcusable
Who else is guarding Randle?
Ah yes, thank goodness we limited Randle to 31/9/4 on 50% from the field.

Oh I realize. I bet Nick realized this has become a cesspool as well.

It's hard to expect positivity from any fan base after a loss, no matter what type of loss it is  :police:

That said, people tend to overreact, whether it's to a loss or a win. I just try to understand that that's how they feel in the moment. They sit down to watch a game for a couple hours, they react to what they see, they move on. If the team won, usually the response is positive, if it's a loss it's going to be negative. People are passionate about the team and anxious for it to do well, probably even more so than some of the players. The players and coaches have to remain even keeled because they're the ones actually participating in these games and they always have a next game, they can't dwell on losses or get too down on themselves...we as fans are allowed to throw the kitchen sink after each loss because that's how some people cope
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D
