How much is the cap going to go up?

$20mil might not be outrageous after that increase.

Horford just signed a two year $20M extension. Steven Adams just signed a two year $25M extension and Larry Nance signed one for 3 years $30M. There is no way Grant Williams, who gives you 8.4pts and 4.8rebs per game is worth $20M per year.

Thanks and TPs to all who are providing the cap space info and such going forward.

This does remind me though, has anyone seen @saltlover around here lately? He was the cap guru and finance expert around here. Hope he's doing well

Who’s his 6’6” body gonna guard? 7 foot Jaret Allen or 7 foot Evan Mobley? Glad Muscala eating his minutes.

People keep telling me that he’s this great defender who can guard the 3/4/5 positions.

Mobley = he lacks physicality and is easily pushed off balance on post ups and interior shots. Grant has the quickness to stay in front of him on the drive as well. Good matchup for Grant.

Doesn’t seem like Joe agrees with that assessment considering Grant hasn’t played at all through 3 4 quarters. Hauser and Muscala may have moved ahead of him on the depth chart.

I don't listen to EEI, and haven't ever since the Big-O and his shock type format.

But I guess today, Jones got into it with Scal a bit.  Jones thinks White should be on the floor at the end of games while Scal is a Smart backer.

Scal should have mentioned how bad White was in the Finals last year to support his argument for Smart. He crumbled on the biggest stage. I think Marcus is the more clutch player on both ends.

Who knows what will happen on the biggest stage, but don’t you think White is a whole different player this year than last?  If White sustains his level of play over the last 20, I vote White.  I can’t deny Smart’s impact defensively down the stretch, but if it’s one or the other, I’m White.

White was terrible from 2, but he still did hit 40% from 3 and was 13 of 14 from the line in the series.  He was an epically bad 8 of 30 from 2 point range though and he didn't do much else in counting stats.  Smart was obviously better, but if you look at things like GmSc, Smart was 5th and White was 6th on the team in the Finals (though there was a pretty large gap between them).

If you look at all the time that both Smart and White have been on the Celtics (a little over a year), Smart has been better for all of that time except for the last 10 or 15 games or so.  And Smart was better against CLE last night.

No doubt that White has played some of his best ball the last month or so in contract to Smart coming back from injury and playing poorly (until last night where he looked like the old version of Marcus).  So sure, if you compare best of his career stretch White to coming off injury Smart, you could conclude that White is better.

But to me, if you look at it in its entirety, Smart has been better overall, and at times, significantly better.  At this point, I still ride Smart over White but they are close.  What a luxury to have both.

Why would you choose to close with White over Smart when Tatum and Brown are going to be using the vast majority of opportunities on the offensive end?  You would be removing a better playmaker with a tremendous nose for the big play on both ends of the floor, for what, a slightly better shooter that isn't going to get many shots?

I agree. I’d rather have Smart in the game for closing situations. He seems to perform better under pressure as well.
