My heart stopped when Embiid hit that. That was super duper impressive though

It kind of reminded me of 2018 in Game 1 vs Milwaukee. Scary Terry hit what looked like the game winning shot, but then with like half a second, a Bucks player (I think Middleton) threw up a desperation heave that went in and the game went to OT

Need to give Embiid credit he is one helluva a player and makes his free throws.

Yeah I really noticed Embiid not settling tonight.  Kept attacking and attacking.
When he shoots so well from the line, the fouls are like layups.  For some reason the guys around him in Philly just aren't enough it seems.
But this is one of the first games where we played Embiid, where I was super impressed that he never took the foot off the pedal.

Celtics called for 22 fouls, Sixers for 13.

Sixers shot 23 more free throws the C's and still lost.  That's rough for them.

Derrick White was huge off the bench. He’s been so good Lately.

While I fully agree it has been very ugly since the Break, it's still super encouraging that the C's are able to find ways to win these games. Our depth is awesome, but also this team has heart.

Good teams find ways to win ugly, and the C's are doing that. In a long season, there'll be stretches where even the great teams have to face some adversity and handle some ugly/bad basketball and trying to stay close + win those games.

Also, we got some guys back from injury and our main Starting 5 hasn't even played much. There'll be some growing pains, but I think it's good that they are working things out and getting acclimated during this stretch, and it'll only help us come April and beyond. I still believe Smart and others will step up once the rust is off them and the chemistry grows

That trade looks better and better. This version of D White makes us so tough to beat.

Celtics own Philly. What a great play Mazz drew up at the end. Give credit where credit is due.

Exactly. And that is exactly why you take the timeout in that situation, which he has tended to not do this season. Even you have to admit that.  ;)

what a great win for us.   pushes Philly a game further back and gives us the tie-breaker against them.
Keeps the Bucks out of first as well.  Way to find a way to win Celtics.

He does call timeouts in those situations. He’s better than Ime at drawing up plays at the end of games as well.

watch it again and you’ll see embiid push d.white back with his forearm, in order to clear space for the desperation heave. if the refs called embiid’s game fairly, he’d foul out in the second quarter of most games or his production would fall off tremendously.

I am starting to think White has more of a case of starting than Smart, or at least playing more minutes. Smart is probably our best defender BUT he is limited on offense, whereas White can play solid defense AND be a huge impact on offense. Not just with scoring, but the overall decision-making where at times Smart has been dreadful since coming back

Yeah I agree. Same with Giannis. It's a shame they are allowed to get away with so much

He absolutely does not lol He's been complicit in several losses this season for that exact reason - the game in Miami, the recent Milwaukee loss if I remember right, etc. He has regularly let them play through it without calling the timeout, leading to us not getting a good shot at all.
