He is set to become an unrestricted free agent in March. The league will likely impose a suspension. Somewhat similar offense resulted in 25 game suspension few years back (Jeffrey Taylor?). If he was signed immediately and received a similar punishment, he could be back during the playoffs. Definitely the best player among the free agents. He did commit a heinous act, though. Should the team stay away or do you believe that once an individual receives a punishment, he or she is rehabilitated and it is fair to bring him in. Or is he too much of a risk for our locker room? Or will he sign with the Hornets anyway??

I don’t think this is the friendliest of answers. I never said that I am for bringing him in. I was just wondering, what is the perception of his situation among forum users.

Bridges will likely sit out the year.  The only team it would make sense for him to sign with is Charlotte, because they have his Bird rights.  It might make sense for Charlotte to do it now, since they're a bottom feeder and he could serve much of his suspension now.  There have been several reports that they eventually want him back.

For me personally, I'd like to see him never play in the NBA again.  I don't feel that way about every instance of domestic violence.  Rehabilitation and genuine remorse for a momentary event can happen.  But, in Bridges case he beat his girlfriend / the mother of his children severely.  She suffered a concussion, a broken nose, bruised ribs and a strained neck from strangulation.  She had bruises all over her body.

Beyond my own personal misgivings, I don't think Brad would sign him, even for a minimum contract.  Players joining the Celtics have repeatedly talked about how our locker room chemistry is the best they've seen.  There's no need to ruin that.

I gave you that, just trying to be playful. Given the Celtics outstanding locker room chemistry, I think it's a laughable notion.

Hell, no.  He's a POS.

Also, after the whole Ibaka thing, there's no way in hell the organization would bring this kid in.

I agree and after going what the Celtics just went through with Ime, I can't see them trudging down this path.

So,  I totally thought this was about the recently the traded to the Nets Bridges signing up to fight in a mixed martial arts contest.

No to the other.

And probably no to the one I thought it was too.  But slightly more interested.
Yup

I'd love the other Bridges, but since the Nets supposedly turned down four #1s for him, we probably don't have much shot.

Serge? Or Udoka?

No to Miles under any circumstances. Would love Mikal, though.
