How about that Brogdon “flagrant” though  ::)

I mean, Beverley also made contact with Jaylen’s head with 5 seconds left in the 4th (the -and 1 play which tied it up). Should that have been a flagrant then too?

Yep.  The “flagrant” was terrible, the jump ball at center court was terrible, the “marginal contact” reversal was terrible.

Basketball is heading towards soccer. Fans and players whine constantly. I thought this was supposed to be fun.

Hockey is a superior product in 2023, but it’s too regional.

I actually think the refs did a great job:

1. Challenge by Lakers on AD contact against Tatum. Tatum initiates the contact.

2. Jump ball after Celtics challenge. As painful as that was, when the whistle blew Tatum did not have clear possession.

3. Pat Bev and one on Brown. He got his head.

4. Missed foul on Tatum. Since that was after a missed call on traveling it balanced out. So net result was fair.

I will agree with Roy that the biggest missed call was the lack of the T on LeBron but Pat Bev being an idiot made up for that too.

I’m very interested in seeing the 2 minute report later today to see if they admit the missed call on traveling.

Considering what Draymond Green gets away with in regards to the officials, I’m not surprised at all that Lebron, the face of the NBA doesn’t get a T there. Also, will be interesting to see what the league does with Pat Beverly for the camera stunt and AD who told reporters after the game that the Lakers were “cheated” by the officials.

Slap to the wrist for AD. Fine for Beverley but that's about it. If that was Marcus Smart doing those, probably a two game suspension lol. If that was Tatum throwing a tantrum like Queen James, technical foul + ejection + fine.

I really expect the traveling call to be in there.  It will lessen the blowback on the officials and the league protects their officials over players.

I agree that they got most of it right except that last play.  Traveling and the foul.  If tatum has a marginal shooting night they win by 10 and none of this is relevant.  Tatum is playing way to much right now and if Brad does not get a wing to take some of those minutes away we are going to see a tired tatum again during the playoffs.

The Tantrum was ridiculous and the refs were hot garbage. Both blowing the whistle and swallowing the whistle....that being said, I'm shocked if you dont think the reffing favored the celtics.

I watched the game with no sound and when returned from commercials to start the OT Tatum shot a T.  I assumed that was a technical on Lebron. Obviously I was wrong.  What was that?

That technical was for Patrick Beverly, who after regulation walked up to the official holding a camera and pointed at it to them...indicating a blown call.

Tatum shot the one technical FT to start OT.

Pat Bev’s camera stunt with the officials.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.
