Not only 4-2 on the trip - we finally won an overtime game!

Smart came up big down the stretch tonight too

He always does but he took too many shots tonight.

Agreed. Im thankful for the heroics at the end, but tonight a net negative overall.

AD touched the ball one time in OT. Touched, not shot.

Maybe Ham isn't the superior coach?

AD could barely stand in OT, and Joe finally made the right adjustment and put Kornet in there. Don't think AD was going to do much in OT anyways.

Poor conditioning on his part, especially when we were the ones on a SEGABABA.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

  • GOT IT!!!
You can never get too high or low on the season. It was a successful road trip. Hopefully they get back to playing team ball soon. A 5 game win streak heading into the Christmas game would be nice.

Glad we won, very exciting game worth staying up for. That said, Joe has got to do a better job. They won despite his poor coaching.

Yes, if only he called one more timeout they would have won the game. Oh, wait… You do realize that Blake Griffin has been the starting center and Kornet the backup. Is that the coaches fault? Trying to make it seem like Mazz is doing a terrible job when the C’s have the best record in the league is just laughable.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

They adjusted well on defense. So they initially start with Grant on AD then Tatum on Bron. The Lakers run a PNR between them. Now Grant switches on to Lebron, but instead of Tatum switching to AD, Kornet comes in instead and Tatum switches with Kornet.

Happy to see them go back home and get their rest, and can't wait for the return of Horford and Timelord. Still, need to adjust and get ready to start another winning streak and brace for the heavyweight Bucks.

Loved Kornet's hustle tonight on the boards. Blake holding down the fort on AD while Horford is out.

Yeah we've called several timeouts and a lot of them didn't stop the bleeding. What actually changed the flow was the lineups changes.

Kornet was huge tonight. He was surprisingly effective against AD.

I was conflicted about this game once the Fakers took a 10 point lead after our collapse...part of me wanted us to lose to put some pressure on the team and on Joe to really examine themselves as to how they could have let such a mediocre team beat us after we had been leading by 15. In a way winning would seem to be papering over cracks that they need to really address, like how their transition defense completely fell apart once they started missing 3s and when they started to get distracted by the officiating - I know the officiating sucked, but newsflash - it sucks most nights, and to be fair it usually sucks for both teams. GWill started the rot by whining to the referees about a foul they called on him when he was guarding AD and then he became a passenger with his pouty petulant body language till he started to make shots late in the 4th.

But they do deserve credit for getting themselves back on track after falling behind by 10 and forcing overtime. Tatum deserves MOM for his performance, he kept us in the game and is the reason we didn't lose this game. He wouldn't let us lose it.

But they have plenty of work and I don't think they should be happy with their performance. I'm really getting tired of seeing GWill complaining to the refs, he 100% has a rep with them now I'm sure.

But for us it's a win. So TPs for all!!

Well said. I also have completely mixed feelings about how this game turned out. The Celts had a 20-point lead that disappeared in a flurry of ineptitude by players and head coach. For the sake of the long run benefit, Celts actually needed to lose this game and for it to hurt and hurt bad. The players and Mazulla have to admit to some bad habits that will cost them a chance at a title - again.
Winning this game gives a false sense of security and rewards bad basketball.

Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:

He played well but we started losing the lead with him in the lineup in the 3rd. That isnt on him though, its the lineups. I felt that Kornet is more effective with Tatum in with him.
