Can’t finish this road trip 0-3. Absolutely a must to get at least one in LA

Tatum will drop 40 on Monday, just watch.

Against a team we wouldn't see I the finals so it means little.

Tatum laid an egg, Golden State was still in his head.   All this talk of titles is for naught until he asserts himself on the warriors.   Talk isn't going to cut it.  You have to outplay them.

How many times can you go under screens against that team and get smoked before you are called insane?

Perk said JT was spooked
E House said GS has C’s number

Are they overeacting?

Saying this is just a regular season game in the middle of the season before the holidays is the lamest excuse.  GS didn’t treat it like such

Perk loves his hot takes, it stimulates clicks and followers. I'd be more interested in what Grande or Gorman had to say.

Fair.  But is he wrong?

an absolute stinkfest.  better see a much better effort next game
The Celtics have a long history of struggling on West Coast road trips.

Really ?  I seem to remember our title teams laying waste to the west coast on those road trips.
Bird got so bored at the end of one stretch out west that he decided to play left-handed.
Garnett's team had the famous Texas sweep. And we have (almost) always handled LA when it mattered most.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

Safe to say we have enough evidence to conclude tatum is a frontrunner.  He has the talent to be what we thought he is, but he is not there yet.

Disagree a 24-year old that took us to the finals last year.

24 yo that has been to how many conference championships....

Age isn't an excuse anymore when a guy has that much playoff experience. He's good player, but he's not the guy.

This is a game in the middle of a long road trip before the holidays as the team has been clearly the best in the league and just thrashed the western conference leading team last game. I would not rush to judgment based on this.

So he's been so successful at 24 that there's no excuse for a bad game in the middle of a long road trip? Got it. We were never going to win them all.

No. He still looks as bad as he did in the finals vs this team. It’s a pattern.

What's our record against the warriors since Tatum has been here?

Lost more than they have won including the finals.

Considering how great the warriors were in the past compared to our teams, its not bad.

Weve seen dame situation vs the heat where he picked up two quick fouls in a playoff atmosphere.. its clearly mental no doubtbut its early and he has been improving every year its really unfair to label him a frontrunner. Remember, he almost carried us through the nets without JB. We were down 3-2 vs the bucks on the road and he had a huge game against giannis of all people. Frontrunners dont do that.

I agree they are in his head, but don’t just assume the
warriors will be back. I don’t worry about western conference teams because we’ll only have to worry about one of them if we get there. My money is on the fact that it won’t be the Warriors.

Who in the west is going to take them? They'll be back. They're coasting right now, so don't be fooled by their record.

They're the vet team that's reserving energfor the playoffs.

I feel that we almost always lose to the Clippers or get swept by the Clippers. The Lakers, we usually split the series whether we win in LA or in Boston

So it’s ok for them to go 2-13 on the road. They are just coasting. But Tatum and the Cs have an off game against a team with only 2 home losses yet they have no heart? 👌🏻

After tonight it does seem like that GS is playing possum.  Kind of those those late era KG/Pp/Rondo teams, turn it on at the end of the year

Players don't overreact to one regular season game. Fans on the other hand.....

This is a massive overreaction tonight... LOL

How many times do we have to see a big game or series and say "If tatum just showed up how he normally does"?

The Warriors are still.plain better and that isn't going to change barring injury.

We just going to ignore that the C’s are missing two starters?  ???

Pretty sure the warriors are missing a starter as well….it’s no excuse ?

Pretty sure the C’s not having Al or Rob is a bigger deal than GS missing Wiggins. Boston had no rim protection and they were out-rebounded 53-39. It’s not an excuse, these are facts.

Rob hasn’t played all year and the Celtics still have the best record in the league? Sure they miss Al but shouldn’t really effect whether they win or lose, you’re literally just making excuses

This isn't about when we usually lose. Tenn said "title teams." This year's team said they want to be in that category. Not gonna happen playing like that.

He had an awesome game five that bixks series. Where was he against the Heat? That series had no business going 7.

Look, he's the guy that's supposed to carry us. Championship teams have the guy they count on. Tatum isn't and hasn't done enough for us to say before the game to say "Tatum will get his, we hope the rest carry their weight"

I can understand getting jitters in the finals at the age of 23, but not in a reg season game during a season you're on a mission.

Personal opinion is that it's Draymond, not the on-ball defender, who bothers Tatum so much.  That's why it didn't matter much that Wiggins was out tonight.  Draymond's help defense is almost flawless, and he nearly always cuts off Tatum's first option as soon as he makes his move.

Same way Tatum "shut down" Durant in the first round last season.  He definitely did his job spearheading the defense, not taking anything away from him, but to shake up an elite player it takes more than the first guy.  For us that might mean Smart, Al, Rob when he's healthy.  For GS it's mostly Draymond.
